A coyote ambled through Sayreville today, scampering past a school and through several streets before being hit by a car, borough official said.

The animal was first seen about 11 a.m. near the Emma Arleth School on Washington Road. Police arrived and watched the coyote for about 30 minutes, before was it struck on Route 9, officials said.

All you need is a modest house in a modest neighborhood

I see a lot of coyotes around here when I'm riding my bike aong the Rio. Sometimes they stand on the trail and stare at me like, "dude, who are you, and why are you scaring all the rabbits away?".

What I found amusing about this story is that the cops watched it for 30 minutes....and probably watched it die.

coyotes were introduced in Georgia in 1976 (By Carter) why I have no clue, I guess to replace the Panthers and Wolves that no longer roam freely in this part of the land--anyway the Coyotes now are seen all the time in suburbs and even the city, eating people's pets and out of trash bins--not the Environmentalists idea, I would think.
