I installed two of these inside my cabinet doors. I love 'em - they hold a lot. Very clever too as it uses kitchen 'space' that normally doesn't even exist!

Regarding throwing out old spices and having to buy new - the things do get 'stale' after a while. Old spices are pretty much worthless and amount to throwing confetti into your cooking.

If you have a healthfood store nearby you might want to visit them. Our local healthfood store sells spices by the ounce - you can go in and by just a teaspoon of something if that is what you need for a recipe. Saves spending 5 bucks for a jar of something that you use rarely.

this one is cool but it only holds 12 spices...

This stainless steel spice carousel has a patented auto measure dial dispenser that measures and despenses spices in precise increments. One click for 1/4 tsp., two clicks for 1/2 tsp., etc.

wow, thats cool...

Alton Brown uses metal tins (labels the tops) and attaches them to the inside of a cabinet on a magnetized strip :P Seems like a decent idea though because you can see what you have whereas you can't always see the back rows in a cabinet. My mom puts all hers in a drawer, lined up alphabetically with the names written on the tops of the containers. We have one of those nice little spinning ones but it doesn't hold very many, the rest are in a cabinet completely unorganized!

i didn't read any of the replies so sorry if this was already said...but i remember my brother buying my dad a spinning spice rack from costco that held quite a bit. only thing i don't like about those is it comes with the spices and 90% of them i'd never use. i prefer to buy some sort of shelving unit to put inside a cabinet and create it yourself. i bought lots of little glass spice jars from crate and barrel and filled them with stuff my MIL sent from morocco.

I just bought a door mount organizer, which holds all my spices. Its the one in the link below. My hubby installed it on the door of our pantry and it's been great to get all my spices out my already packed cabinets. :) The top 4 shelves hold my spices, and I have pantry items on the bottom shelves.
