Ok i saw on another topic that manicures cost between 25-35 US$, is that it? And how often do women in USA have their nails done? Because here in Brazil, if you can afford, it's common to have them done weekly or twice a month (1 week yes 1 no). Oh, and you pay like R$ 15.00 (hands and toes nails, forgive my english) here which is like US$ 7.00.

Anyway, I was just wondering.

Seems like an average price to me for the "average" salon. I'd say most women who regularly do them do them about once every two weeks. I'm not one of those women, can't afford them! :)

Manicures are for real nails  Once a week! Well I guess I can understand that, when I was in Jordan I got my hair styled 2-3 times per week at the salon. It was only $5 everytime.

 i think i scared the hell outta Charles after i saw that manicures can cost US$ 35.00 there and he didn't know how often women have her nails done lol. Well, I try to do my own nails, but unfortunately i suck at it. So i can only make them look less terrible, not make them look nice like manicures do lol. But no, expensive like that i figured once a month or once every two months should be good enough. I like to look pretty, but i dislike wasting money and for me that's way too expensive.

I wouldn't have a clue what they cost. I have never had one. Sorry I am cheap and don't like to spend money on myself.

Last month when I went to see my fiance he got me a makeover and bought me a whole outfit. He is such a sweetheart! (L)

You can get them for much cheaper, but it's probably better to pay a little more. There are horror stories of women (and men) who've gotten cheap Manicures and wound up with horrid nail infections, both fungal and bacterial. Some of the cheap places cut costs by not properly sterilizing thier instruments or by reusing things that should not be reused.

I'd suggest going to a place that charges at least $20. And check it out to make sure it looks clean and they're sterilizing/using new utensils for each client.

It may suck to pay more, but in the long run it's cheaper then shelling out big bucks for doctor's visits and antibiotics.

Don't forget the tip. This is America. :)

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt
