Captian Jack was in a Dr Who EP? Really! I didn't know that. I have to admit that I stopped watching Dr Who quite a while back when our PBS station stopped running it.

i also liked Coupling - it was a dirty version of Friends but it was super funny, except the last season wasn't as funny as the first 3...

that's cuz Jeffery was gone... :crying:

Zactly. Closest to Jeff was that lady that was channeling Jeff when Steve was waiting for his baby to be born......even tho it wasn't nearly as funny as the real thing, she kinda hit the impersonation on the nose.

I screamed when they made Coupling US...with Rena something or other. It was awful. I think the headline in the paper the next day said 'Coupling should Abstain' or so

Yup, he was in quite a few episodes of the Chris Ecclestone Dr Who series. The finale of that series is also the reason why he is now "immortal".

Dur...never really thought about the whys of it all....Yeah, now that makes sense...silly moi!

Since I missed it could you give me an idea as to why he can't die?

There was this whole hoo ha with the Dr and Rose and CJ being under attack from the Daleks. It was some heavy shiznit, and the Doc sent Rose home in the Tardis cos there was no way he felt he could win. Rose goes home, then somehow rigs the Tardis to go back for him....in the meantime, she looks into the 'heart' of the Tardis and absorbed all of the energy from it.

Rose came back, killed all the Daleks. CJ was holding them at bay on one of the other floors....he got killed...but because Rose had all these powers, he was brought back to life.

It ended that the Doc had to kiss Rose, or near to it, to take the energy away cos if not she was gonna die, which in turn was the excuse for the Doc's new face....because he absorbed it, his old form died and he regenerated into the new Doc. They in turn leave the space station this all happened on, but left CJ behind cos they didn't know he was still alive.

Hmmm... I always liked the EP's with the Daleks. I really need to try and catch up. Do you know what year these aired? Thanks for the update!

NP...I was just looking to see if it was on youtube or anything for you....I played a few vids on there, and they got me missing D so much. He's such a DW fan...esp as a kid...I was living there when it was coming out, and he was soooo excited! Oh, and he'd always adjust his phat surround sound by testing it by playing the Orbital version of the theme song.

So, since I was there when it started, I'd say it was the 05 season, cos Eccleston didn't see season 2. Try a torrent....it was a fairly good ep iirc.

Yep, just googled. http://www.sylvestermccoy.com/newdoctorwho...hoseason01.html

The eps when CJ showed up were V good as well. omG, I remember I cried. 'The Empty Child' and 'The Doctor Dances'

Love the timelord changing ....my first Timelord was Jon Pertwee,...and each time the transition happened it was always fun....love Dr Who but some american friends of mine dont understand its appeal - i cant work out why? for me part of the fun is to some degree it appeals to the child/fantasy/sending itself up in me....think i will have a trip around youtube now to see if i can find the others

Ashes to Ashes was BRILLIANT last night! Very pleased with it thus far.

Yeah, Ashes to Ashes really looks like it might be in the same league as Life on Mars. Gene Hunt is definitely one of the best characters on TV.

Real love stories never have endings...

actually, word is that The Doctor will *never* appear on Torchwood, because they don't want The Doctor to be too adult in content (right now its more a family show). However, Martha (the Doctor's current companion) will be on 3 episodes of Torchwood this season. I've also been told a nasty rumour that Martha will not be on next series of Doctor Who and will be replaced by that awful shrew from the first episode of series 3, the bride that somehow got sucked up by the Tardis. bleah :P I think there'll be a new Doctor next series as well.

Capt. Jack was in one episode of Dr. Who season 3, where they went to the end of the universe. It sort of crosses over to the last ep and first ep of Torchwood (which, btw, is an anagram of Doctor Who) when Jack goes "to find his Doctor".

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

Hrmm, I coulda swore that I heard DW goes on TW...maybe I got that mixed up and it's Jack on DW.

Yeah, Katherine Tate makes more appearances on DW...I heard that at one point, all the assts are gonna be on....Rose, Martha, KT, and the older asst that was on that one ep (the one who's a reporter now?)

Catherine Tate is the Doctor's assistant in the new season, so like it or not, she's there. I bloody hated Martha, thought she was a rubbish actress with a bland character. At least Catherine Tate can't be accused of being boring - I think she will be an excellent addition, bouncing off of the Doctor's persona. Her and David Tennant (who has perfect comedic timing) should make a good pair. Martha comes back for a few episodes in season 4 but no more. She wasn't very popular, in general. Rose is back for 3 episodes.

Last I heard David Tennant has signed up for one other season past the one they are currently filming (season 4).

I forgot to mention something about Torchwood; it has, as a guest star, James Marsters - who played Spike on Buffy. He's is brilliant (and pretty sexy too!).
