Carla, that is incredibly sad. I've had a few teachers like that, even had one in grade school that locked me in a room for day after day until I confessed to something. I know the type. You're sure the teacher must be going blind so you wave your hand so she'll call on you and still your hand goes numb from being up so long. Sometimes you'll get the dreaded, "put your hand down." Had a teacher (he was also the principal) in Junior High that was convinced I was going to become a serial killer. Still managed to become the normal, well-adjusted individual that I am today despite this nonsense. Carla you'll always be our princess!!!

I wonder if trailmix is going to start a poll on whether or not poor, helpless, innocent Mumsie confessed to his mean grade school teacher. What do you think?

What a miserable woman that teacher is!! It's funny how we remember those types of things said to us as children, good and bad.

Yes IR5 - we now need to know if you did indeed confess and what it was she wanted you to confess to.

I will, but first I'll give more people the chance to vote for Len's sainthood or at least to phone in a pledge to help support public television.

It appears that nobody really cares if my sister gets beatified. :crying: So without further adieu he's my story.

At the school I attended (it wasn't obeidience school, I didn't like the treats :P ), they marked the end of the day by playing music instead of ringing the bell. Not rock, mind you, but adult comtemporary. I must have been subjected to the horrors of Popcorn and A Taste of Honey at least a thousand times. On this particular day, I was thirsty but since our teacher had a rule that you couldn't take a drink until after the school day was over so I waited until I heard the music. The music played for a good five seconds when there was an announcement over the PA system about some silly staff meeting. I walked over to the water fountain and took a sip. That teacher, who wasn't the nicest person at the best of times, decided to take out her frustrations on 'lil ole Mumsie. Instant detention unless I apologized in writing for breaking the no drinking rule! I refused and politely pointed out that the music had started playing so I was not going to write anything. Teacher then put me into a small room and tried to get me to comply. I sat that first night from 3:35 or so to 4:45. I'm sure Mom was concerned but it was in the spring so she probably thought I was out playing baseball or something. The next morning I was again back in school and back in solitary. I got out at lunch and then it was back to the hole, just me, a pencil, a piece of grey foolscap and a desk. My friends would sometimes wave at me when the teacher wasn't looking, and my ersatz jailer would come by to see if I had seen the error of my ways. This pattern went on for a few more days until I had had enough. I finally composed my "confession." I can still remember the look on Teacher's face when she read my allocution. The statement of contrition had became something quite different. If I recall correctly it started, "Help, I am a prisoner held against my will by someone who likes to torture little kids." It went on to note, "Miss **** is so low that she plays handball against the curb." It was the nastiest thing a polite, well-behaved young Mumsie could come up with. The teacher was not amused and bellowed, "I'm taking this to the principal, don't move from that spot." I don't know if I cared at the time. The next thing I knew I was out and at home watching TV. Unbeknownst to me, a friend had told Mom about what happened and Mom contacted the school. At the same time, the principal had passed the note on to the vice-principal who was in process of contacting my mom. I liked the vice-principal and he liked me so he asked me to clean out my desk and I went home with Mom. It was May so it didn't matter if I missed any classes. Many years later, when I was graduating high school and the vice-principal was retiring (he was a principal by this time) I asked him what he did with my commentary. "It tore it up and threw it in the trash," was his response. No wonder I liked him.

Ok, picture Mumsie dressed in a sailor outfit, carrying a lollipop on one hand and either a vibrator or an AK47 in the other.... looking at you with those psycho eyes of his.... AG! Just had a mini heart attack. No wonder his teachers always wanted him confined to a 4*4 space

humm, while reading the story about Mumsie's time in da big house, neither a sailor outfit or vibrator came to mind. I guess I can't be part of the club any more, can I? (handing back my membership card to dirty minds anonymous ):crying:

That is because you realize that there is nothing remotely obscene about the story.

It is just another tale from Mumsie's rather maudlin existence. :crying:
