Hillary got more votes from her party than McCain did from his in most states, including those that are strong red states.

Just something to think about.

But when you add together the Democrat "anti-Hillary" votes, PLUS the Republican McCain votes, you have a Republican victory.

Maybe, maybe not - especially if McCain chooses someone very conservative for a running mate and Clinton chooses Obama.

Do you honestly think Obama would run with Clinton after all of the racism and personal attacks coming from her campaign and husband? The guy wouldn't even shake her hand at the State of the Union.

All you need is a modest house in a modest neighborhood

In a modest town where honest people dwell

If you go and look at the total votes cast in a state like, say, the known Democratic stronghold of Alabama, it's interesting to note that the Republican winner (Huckabee) got only about 12,000 voted more than the Democrats #2 (Clinton, who got roughly the same number of votes as McCain).

Not very scientific, but it makes me believe that McCain versus Clinton is not a foregone conclusion

? Are we saying that the electorate is so fickle they'll only vote for someone if they are popular?

yes siter purple, if they have nice hair and teeth some folks vote for them..

You bet they will....Superficial is the only way to describe his meteroric rise!

Frankly, I hope he does take the nomination because I believe in the American people to recognize what this is all about and subsequently deny him the presidencynomination........

Go dig up the racism his wife spouts....or perhaps his Southern homophobia...

I think California spoke about that yesterday. ;)

I really enjoy how you deflected that question. I guess even Clinton supporters are spinsters at heart.

Even if Mccain gets the nomination, I would not be surprised to see Paul and/or Huckabee run as a third party candidate. If that happens, its going to be very unlikely any republican candidate will win in the next election.

If Mccain takes someone who is very conservative as VP, he will alienate independents, don't do it, he will alienate conservatives.

Ron Paul is going to run as a Libertarian. That writing is on the wall. The reaction to Paul has been disgusting. I had to turn off the Reagan Library debate when the moderator cut off Dr. Paul after about 5 seconds then allowed Romney about 45 seconds to answer the question.

After this Saturday, I will be a registered independent because of it.

I did like it when Guiliani said that Dr. Paul won all of the debates. He was the only person who acted professionally and answered the questions that were asked.

Agree - I think a third party run by a conservative is very likely.

Do you mean Conservative (Dr. Paul) or Neo-Con (Huckabee)?

Your labelling is ridiculous & undermines any point you are trying to make.

But to answer you:

Do you honestly think Obama would run with Clinton after all of the racism and personal attacks coming from her campaign and husband? The guy wouldn't even shake her hand at the State of the Union.

[/qu

No way in he!! would Hillary take him on her ticket or go on his. She is too smart for that.

Do you mean Conservative (Dr. Paul) or Neo-Con (Huckabee)?

hmmm, maybe both. I don't think Huckabee though

Ron has the money, I don't think Huck does...

You can't equate primaries to the general election. There will be large turnout against Clinton in the general election. A vote against Clinton is a vote for McCain.

True - but it does tell a story.

That might be the case if the Republicans were enthusiastic about their frontrunner - for the most part, they are not.

Like I say, I do feel the "hatred" as a factor is over-stated. A lot of people really hate Bush, he got elected twice.

A noteworthy point. I hope though, that we don't have another divisive presidency. Obama seems to be well liked among all demographics...that shouldn't be ignored among the Democratic Party and particularly the Super Delegates, should they cast the deciding vote.

The Latinos are firmly in HRC's camp.

Other CA info, heavily favoring HRC, here: http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries...s/epolls/#CADEM

According to exit polls, Hillary yesterday won 18-29 year olds in California, home to more young adults than any other state. Hillary also won 18-29 year olds in Massachusetts, home to more than 250 college and universities.

I forgot to add, and Asians. :)
