:D Blue balls? Try black and blue?!?! God, it has been so long. Anyway, dalegg, your plan is something I am now thinking about. She does not have to decide until May 20 something. I arrive in Vietnam May 12, so there is NO reason for her to not wait and thankfully she just agreed to talk to me more about this (called and woke her up just now). Hopefully she will understand that she needs to think this through and just wait.

Actually, I think the solution is simple.

I get it that she is a traditional gal who doesn't want to shack up with someone who she is only engaged with, so

- withdraw your K-1 Petition

- cancel your engagement ceremony

- have marriage ceremony instead

- move to France as husband and wife having year long honeymoon in Paris

- next year move to U.S. as U.S. citizen and Student

- Apply for AOS while in US under a different status.

Think of the problems you solve!

- no more worries about blue slip or co-sponsor issues

- no living in sin

- you have time to build income history for affidavit of support

- and most importantly, no more Mr. Blue Balls.

See- problem solved. :D

Matt... just wanted to say i will be praying for you both... it sounds like a wonderful opportunity for her... but as a woman... i would assume that she doesn't want to jinx the whole k1 process...

wishing you both the best!

I agree with the previous posts.

I hope your fiancee really knows what she wants. Does she truly want to have a master's degree (and then maybe a career after and then a family), or does she want to be married (and then sort of have a master's degree down the road and kids)?

I think you guys need to sit and make a wish list and/or a priority list. The most important thing in your life being the number one on your list. My husband and I made our list separately and then talked about it. We also have a list for us as a married couple. The lists are for both the long term and short term goals. Just an idea...

Well, you have some tough decisions to make ahead of you.

Good luck!

We had a long talk today about this situation and Anh has decided to stay wth her first decision, which is to turn it down. Her family thinks that is best.

So basically, that is that. I have to accept her decision and will be supportive of it. I can only hope and pray that she gets that visa.

I don't see any reason why she wouldn't get a visa... but what do I know.

You guys seem really nice people. :)

I hope your visa journey will go smoothly.

I need a co-sponsor because of my strange career and co-sponsors are no longer popular at HCMC. They result in the Blue Slip of Death.

That is the best thing you can do is support her in her decision. We are all here for you, and we are all hoping that you will get that pink slip. It is so great how all of us care so much for one another, even though we have never met. Someday it would be great if all of us got together after our SO's get here. We have all gone thru so much, and in the end it is well worth it.

Keep positive!!!!!
