I'm afraid we are too about to enter the black hole.

We received a 221g for my husband's military exemption card--and of course for the mandatory name check. The consul seemed positive and said that the name check shouldn't take more than 2-3 weeks. She said just to send the original card with a certified translation. the first consul seemed unsure if they needed to run an additional check for the military (Condor)? even though my husband has never been in the military...I guess they need to see the exempt card first.

Is this how it all begins??? Are we entering the black hole?? :crying:

Well the good part about this, is that they gave you one specific reason why they couldn't issue you the visa. It doesn't seem like a complicated procedure, but other consulates DO put people in black holes. Hope everything works out for you

>>>>You can never tell if you are about to enter the black hole AKA "Bottomless Pit" . We were given a promise from the CO that if we turned in a certified translated copy of his birth certificate and medical exam we would get the visa in 10 days. Needless to say, the ten days is now 1 month. You can only be patient and pray your application will be the one to skip the hole. Unfortunately, the majority of men from the middle east are getting scanned throughly.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Oh dear...I"m sorry if my posts made you panic. Please do not allow my situation to cast doubt on your situation. Perhaps God has written a different chapter in my book than he has written in your book. Maybe I'm going through all of this because there's something God wants me to learn through this process and maybe you have already learned what God is trying to teach me.

The only advice I have to give you is stay positive and good things come to those who wait.

I'm sorry to hear this, but don't stress too much. Usually AR's only last a few weeks. Yes, there are exceptions, but try to stay positive.

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

Hang in there and hopefully you will be finished with the AR before too long.

Thanks everyone. Goldenheart, your posts didn't make me panic, they just shed light on how this process works...I too wonder if this is something God has sent to test me/us somehow...everytime I read about an AP/AR process I think that it could happen to us...I just want to know if there is anyone who this hasn't happened to...where are they? (in the States and not posting at websites like this, probably!)
