I-134 for Net Income OR Gross Income "Confuse"

Hello All,

I’d like to share my story with you all after I spoke to my friend “He used to work for SOS people (help refugees), not anymore”. I searched around on this forum and 10/10 people said, we use Gross income NOT net income, but he said other way, Immigration needs Net Income instead of Gross Income. He looked at my income and explained to me:

1. My income for last year was $22,510 “Gross Income, Net Income &18,450.

2. I traveled to my country 2 trips “subtract from Air tickets about $2.500”

3. Phone bill call every month $100 bucks. Send money 150 bucks every month...etc…

He said; with 18,000 Net Income NOT include air tickets, phone bill, gifts. I’m not qualify to sponsor my fiancée, Plus, CO will questions on it.

Is that right, or just because of him? I need some helps from you all. I just have a new job for a month ago, $28/hr.

So, we are using Gross Income, Am I Right? Much appreciation.

????? confused as the poverty level is 17k so you would still be over, but honestly everything I have seen or read its GROSS INCOME - I mean we all do adjustments so I would tend to wonder about what he said.

Maybe some tax pro's and other senior VJ members can elaborate on this future.

Cheers and gl on your journey but I would be interested to see some answers here on this one.

Dear Friends,

Ithas been long time that I didnt log on for a long time, I was very busy about the intreview. I want to share with you my visa interview on Jan 23, 2007 in U.S. Embassy in Ankara, Turkey.

Well... My interview time was on 9.45am but I was at the Embassy one hour before, It was pretty crowded with other people who applied for visas. After two level security check Officer gave me a number and they let me to walk in to the interview hall, Its like a bank, you know there are many seats and you wait for your number to appear at one of those windows. I was pretty excited, I waited for almost two hours, during that time, I watched other people's interviews, they were mostly students and visitors to US but I must say mostlt they had refused. Around 11:40am my number appeared, I had interview in English(If you wish you can have your interview in Turkish). Officer asked me first Where have you met to your fiancee? How often you talk to your fiancee? I answered all questions clear and understanding way. Officer mostly focused and ask questions about my Fiancee's financial matters. She asked for W2, 1040, I-134. Then she said my fiancee's adjusted gross income is not enough:( the she gave me a green form and said ''You have two options, you can have a co-sponsor or instead of a new sponsor, my fiancee's 1040 and W2 2006 showing adjusted gross income at least 16.500'' I was confused and asked to officer ''Did I get approved or get denied'' Officer replied ''Actually you are not denied but your fiancee must meet finacial requirements '' I was so sad. Now we are planning to send my fiancee's 1040 and W2 for the year 2006. We dont want to ask my fiancee's dad for to get me there my fiancee wants to this with her possibilities. We want to try first to use 1040 and W2 for 2006 option, I wonder If We fail this option then will Embassy deny me or will they ask for co-sponsor?

by the way, interview isnt scary thing, just be self-confident, honest, calm then you will be ok good.gif

I wish good luck all fellows

Thanks for reading my post
