My manager told me it would be best if I ask her for the letter because our district manager would take forever. however....english is her second letter so she told me to write one and she will read it and sign. I do not know exactly how to write it so it sounds professional. Can any of you show me samples?

Here's another example for the text of the letter (Utah's employment laws are different and nobody here will say that a position is permanent):

Jane Doe was hired as an employee of Jack Jones Enterprises on October 18, 2002. She works full-time and her annual salary is approximately $60,000.00. Jack Jones Enterprises is an at will employer.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Jack Jones

I got corporate to make me a letter but can you believe it, they wanted to fax it to embassy? Anyway I convinced them to fax it to me and I printed it out but it looks horrible. I expected nice stationary. It does have the company logo on it, at least. Do you think there will be an issue with embassy if its a fax on plain paper? It does have the persons name and even that they can contact her if needed.

For some reason I think an original is better. Maybe you should still make up the other one and have your boss sign it, so that you have an original if they give you a hard time. They may not even ask for it, but better safe than sorry.

I agree. Just have another one for your boss to sign as well.
