Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama surged to a big lead over Hillary Clinton in California hours before "Super Tuesday" voting began in 24 states, according to a Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll released on Tuesday.

...

In California, which alone provides more than one-fifth of the Democratic delegates needed for the nomination, Obama led Clinton by 49 percent to 36 percent, the poll found. The margin of error was 3.3 percentage points.

Does anyone really think that the democratic party would put that ridiculous Hillary Clinton up for election? Any intelligent, self-sufficient person will disagree with that party, but it's leaders did not get to the top of their heap by being stupid!! If she were to run in the general election, every white guy in the country who hasn't voted in the last thirty years would come to the polls and we would have a landslide victory for whoever else was against her.

let her run, she'll be defeated at some point, then she'll be tossed in the same pile kerry is, forever to be ignored.

I saw an interview with Obama this morning on Fox. Even though I totally disagree with his politics I can understand the likability factor. He seems like a genuine person. Hillary on the other hand is just so unlikable. I don't see how anyone would want to be around her.

Well - turnout is very high! I waited a half hour to vote and I thought I'd beat the rush by getting there early.

Godo sign. The higher the turn out, the better it is!

I was surprised to find that I was the first one there so I had to inspect the ballot box to see that it was empty and then sign the tape. I got there right at 7am when it opened. :)

Just for the sake of curiosity, why is it that Hilary is perceived as so 'unlikeable'? Not being a USC I don't get it. I don't agree with her on every policy or anything, but she just doesn't strike me as Ms unlikeable.

Obama on the other hand, I don't get the 'he's so likable' factor. However, again, not being the USC I find this celebrity endorsement thing distasteful and to have the support of someone like Oprah just seems rather disturbing. I mean, Oprah believes in the irrational, like 'The Secret' so to have someone that flaky as an endorsement, if I were a politician I would be putting myself at a very long distance from her.

On the Republican side, the only one I find truly disturbing is Huckers, and he isn't likely to get nominated. The best he could hope for is VP and I don't even think he'll get offered that.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Good question! People want change from Bush-Clinton-Clinton-Bush-Bush cycle and another Clinton again? Plus many people would come out only to vote against her during the President Election, if she is the nominee. Hillary is a good person but she is very polarized political figure.
