OH yeah, I figure I will get home and the approval will be sitting right there ..... Murphy's Law!

I wouldn't be surprised. If we had just made the InfoPass appointment for a couple of (business) days later, we would have gotten the news beforehand. Anyway, I hope they are able to tell you something from the computer.

Nope, nada. My case is still officially pending. Oh, and she gave me the cheerful fact that it may take 6 more months. Probably the rote response, but hardly hopeful or helpful for my mood. Oh, and the other classic line was that "we transfer stuff all the time between the centres, and it doesn't mean it will speed up processing" Fantastic!

I was only able to get a 6 months stamp. 4 hours driving for a 7 minute visit (I literally walked in, got to an officer, got stamped, walked out).

Ugh. You probably should have brought the CIS policy memo that specifies 12 month stamps. I told Claudia just to whip it out at the start and tell the officer that's what she was there for, the 12 month stamp mentioned in the memo. But I'd bet that in any event you will be approved in the next week or two. The officers won't know anything if it's not in the computer -- we just lucked out. Sort of.

Yeah, I forgot about taking the paper, but I specifically asked for a 12 month stamp and it was a definite no go. I had to give up and stop talking to her because she definitely toed the party line and it was like talking to a brick wall. She got the jist that I was tired of waiting for an approval and made some comment about not worrying because my status is still ok. I replied "I know that and you know that, but people in the real world like employers don't get it, they don't understand the paperwork". When she replied "oh no, that's not true", I almost unloaded a can of "you're full of ####### shall I show you VJ and proof otherwise" whoopa$$, but I refrained and left before getting into trouble! :devil:

Yep, there isn't much percentage in arguing with government employees. :wacko:

Cassie, glad you got your stamp. 4 hours drive? I don't envy you. Why should we pay high fees for such an inefficient process? I am really disappointed; I had no idea what a chaotic agency we have to deal with.

They're all presumed worthless unless they prove otherwise, right up to the tippy top. Heh, my wife wants me to write our senators to say, "Thanks for nothing!" Actually, for all I know, maybe the promised inquiry by the office of Senator Nelson (D) goosed the process, but even assuming it was made, I kind of doubt it. And I have heard nothing at all from Senator Martinez ®, not even an acknowledgment of our request. Not that I voted for him or would ever consider doing so.

09/??/2005 Green Card arrived!!!!!!!! YUPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Removal of Conditions:

06/01/2007 Send package to TEXAS Service Center

06/07/2007 Received NOA

09/20/2007 Went to get an stamp, denied stamp at the Miami USCIS Office =(

01/31/2008 Transfer to Vermont Service Center (after almost 8 months!)

02/22/2008 This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

02/26/2008 This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred. (Last Touched)

07/01/2008 : still waiting for a miracle after 390 days of suffering....

07/02/2008: Infopass Appointment. passport Stamp....

07/03/2008: Incredible!!!! Card Production Ordered!!!!!!

07/04/2008: Touched. Duplicate email Card Production Order

07/07/2008: Touched

07/08/2008: Touched. Email with notice of approval

07/09/2008: Touched again!

07/11/2008: CARD ARRIVES IN MAIL!!!!! THANKS!!!! WELLCOME IMMIGRANT LETTER!!! :P

Naturalization Process:

06/23/2010: 06/23/2010 - Send N400 after 5 years of permanent residency. Good luck !

What is your second biometrics date? I can update the list next time. Did your file get touched yet?

I did my second Biometrics on May 12, 2008 and got no notice after that.

AOS from F-1 Timeline

(based on marriage to USC)

2010-06-16 Send I-130 and I-485 packages

2010-06-17 arrived at Chicago lockbox (express mail service was quick, it took less than a day)

2010-06-24 Checks cashed

2010-06-26 Received NOAs for 1-130, I-485 and I-765 (EAD)

2010-07-09 I-130, I-765 touched

2010-07-23 Call USCIS to request Bio. letter. Gotta wait in 45 days for another call

2010-08-18 EAD touched

2010-09-03 Biometrics letter received. Scheduled on 09/13/2010

2010-09-07 Successful walk-in biometrics

2010-09-07 EAD card production order. I-485 touch <-- 8 hours after biometrics done

2010-09-08 I-485, EAD touched

2010-09-16 EAD card and interview letter scheduled on Oct 18 received.

2010-10-18 interview- Got RFE-RFE sent same day!

2010-10-22 GC production notice received!<-- Application approved!!!

2010-11-01 GC received, See USCIS again in next 2 years!
