Old TSC cases transferred to VSC

yes I know. We are far down the list, so it doesn't really give me high hopes. I figure we are 2 months out, yet I am still checking this bloody board daily, hoping for some good news from others. BTW did anybody attempt to do a name change on the I-751, I wonder if that is going to screw things up for us even more. Really wish I knew if they were going to accept it or not, so in the next month we could start on our Citzenship App. (ah yes more money and more waiting).

I chanted "card production ordered" as I logged in to USCIS today, but no luck. Doesn't sound like anyone on this list got approved today.

VSC has definitely slowed down or temporarily shelved some of our transfers for some reason. If you look at the list, 80% of the approvals came during the first half of April (if you include 3/31). Only 10% of the approvals -- i.e., two approvals, kalstravels and licianne -- have come during this second half of April. Two approvals in two weeks, in fact.

maybe you guys can answer me this question... my friend was married (with an USA citizen) he got divorce right after her naturalization..... I know that she can not married someone and claim that person for a while... anyone knows how long she has to wait until she is able to married another person and able to claim that person???????? please! I heard 5 years... but since she is resident or since she is a citizen???? thanks guys!!!!

She can marry another person ANYTIME (depending on state law) but for immigration purposes there is a 5 year wait between USC/alien petitions.

Thanks!!!!! one more thing.... you said 5 years counting since she is a resident or since she became citizen????? that is what I don’t get.......

I hope we see same kind of movement today other wise we have a long week to wait (till Friday we wont see nothing)

Not that this is in the cards now or will be in the future and just out of curiosity, (and this is a bit off topic of the orginal discussion but since it is already started here), if say my wife got naturalized and became USC, could she then petition for her parents to come over here or would she need to wait 5 years. Just distance thoughts if SA ever started going the way of Zim.

Yes she will be able to ask for her parents at any time after she gets the naturalization..... (that is how my friend did and her parents are resident already.... believe or not was faster to became resident that to clear conditions....... )

I think CinT will get approved today. Even with the turtle speed we should hear something today. BTW Tushar was approved last week too. So 3 people last week not two.

I got nothing today. Even with Tushar, they really have slowed down. I'm getting antsy b/c my wife is going to Colombia in less than six weeks, and I'd like to avoid her having to go for an InfoPass (with at least one kid in tow, no less).

Nothing again today. I'm getting nervous again. We're driving to Canada on the 23rd and it would crush me to drive 2 days only to find there were border crossing issues. Ironically, all my dog needs is a valid rabies certificate. I do have the passport stamp. I also have the immigration officer's words ringing in my head: "this is worthless if they deny you".

Hopefully it'll happen in the next two weeks and the worrying will be for naught.

I just found this discussion and can be added to the "loser" list as well. I filed my I-751 in May of 2007, had my biometrics appt on 07/03/07, and my case was last touched on 02/25/08. Do you guys think it matters that my biometrics appt was almost 2 months after I filed? Will this delay my case? I am so frustrated and just want that card.

No it won't. It didn't matter in your case (or any of ours) because the USCIS just sat on the applications for months after the biometrics were done.

As for frustration. We filed March 23, 2007 and were only approved April 18, 2008. 1 year and nearly 4 weeks later! So hang in there...We were so traumatized by this whole delay that we are going to hold off filing for my wife's US citizenship for a while...

I think the people at the VSC are taking some days off because they are enjoying their spring weather. A New England Sping or some crummy USCIS application? Hmm... the choice would be hard....

Hang in there James....you're next. With all the good advice you've afforded everyone I am personally routing for you. That's why I keep checking. With two kids I don't see how the USCIS would deny you... I am really PO'd at all those CSC people that filed in January/Feb. 2008 that have already been approved....its not fair! They must think the USCIS is a wonderful thing, the next best thing to Social Security or Medicare....

I am beginning to doubt tis alphabetical thing. Its Wednesday and neither James nor I have heard anything because they should be handling the "W"s by now. ####### and I am leaving the country on the 13th of May. I had hoped to have the card by then.

Does the date when it was last touched mean anything? I noticed that almost everybody with last touch on 2/25 got approved. Mine was last touched on 2/25, but I haven't heard anything.

By the way....I can't figure out how to do it, but if somebody wants to add me to the list....here are my dates:

NOA 05/07/07, Biometrics 07/03/07, last touch 02/25/08
