Hi Nelson77,

Congratulations, Nelson77 for getting your 10yr Green Card!!!

After such a long 1 year and 3 month wait, you deserve it! It's good to know that the VSC is doing something, even if it takes a long long time. Too bad though, you couldn't get a refund for the I-751, as you only have the 10yr card for a short time now.

Oh well, onto the next stage of citizenship for you, Nelson77 (unless you've already applied for that already)!

Good luck too on your Citizenship application and the rest of your immigration journey!

Ant (#99 on this VSC I-751 list who is still waiting...)

P.S. By the way, should I (or someone else here on VJ) update your approval status too, on the "VSC status list?" If so, would it be under today's date of 9/3/08?

guys i have my interview today , approved just took 5 minutes..:dance::dance:

Hi BBAN,

Good luck on your upcoming interview on Oct 27 and hope that they approve you then (they better, after making you wait so long). And I hope too, that you have a speedy interview that day, as from what I've read about other's interview I-751 experiences on this forum, they are usually quick indeed. Wow, 1year+7months is a long time to wait! By the way, did you apply for citizenship yet? As well, what did you do after your NOA expired?

Ant (Still waiting at the VSC...)

We have our interview Oct. 27 7:30 AM. Hopefully a 5 minutes version.

I have not applied for citizenship. After my NOA expired I had my passport stamped,,, twice (due to the first passport stamp expired). 1year+7months is way to long processtime.

Hi BBAN,

Thanks for your reply. I agree, 1year+7months is way too long, indeed! I wonder what the reason behind your "long delay" was? And getting your passport stamped twice seems inconvenient too, having to go make an infopass appointment and then taking time out of your days to get such. As for applying for citizenship, I think you can do that despite your I-751 being not approved yet, as long as you've met the other requirements for citizenship (3 years marriage, 3 years green card/permanent resident, 3 years physical US residence), then you're good to go. From what I've read here on VJ and elsewhere, applying for the N-400 "forces" them to approve your I-751 application quickly, so no need to get the I-751 approved first to apply for the N-400. But then again, you'll get your I-751 approved pretty soon (on Oct 27 hopefully), so you don't have to worry about that anymore, and can apply for citizenship next (if you want to) and not worry about the I-751 anymore.
