Well i'm still waitng to see if his stuff turns up today to send out. Unfortunately found out I probably won't have the extra funds to make my trip there in June to visit <sigh> Hopefully the app goes through fast then.

My bf is in the UK too

I hope you're able to send out your packet soon!

I'm sure i will. if it's not here today it will have to be here tomorrow. Airfares are horrid though. Up till June they are 600ish.. Not horrible but managable. After May they jump to over 1k. Not something a mom of 2 boys can manage on my salary LOL.

As for wedding. We are doing the nice civil one initially, then plan for something more after the fact.

Sarah-that sounds like so much fun!

I should just warn you all now...I have a habit of shortening people's usernames...so if I shorten yours to something you hate, please tell me. :)

well one of his packages finally arrived (cute gift.. i want to kiss him for it) still waiting to see what the mail yields. as for air fares.. i'm hopeful but not going to hold my breath. It would have to drop quite a bit to be able to do it but we shall see.

Yeah...airfare is crazy right now! We're looking at having him come down to visit in April and it's like $100 more than it was last time he came down to visit, in October. And we keep looking at moving costs and thinking "do we see each other now or do we save for moving and the wedding later."

Speaking of weddings, what is everyone doing? We both want the big church wedding, so we're going to have a civil ceremony when the visa is approved and then plan a religious ceremony. (I'm sorry if this is personal information...I keep distracting myself from the waiting and anxiety by wedding planning...it helps because it's something I can micro-manage.)

We are planning the same, a civil ceremony as soon as the K-1 is approved. Then we will save up and have our wedding in Maine where my family is (and where we first met). It's also a shorter flight for her family from Germany so it works for both of us. it kinda looks like thats the way a lot of people do it.

Well his package didn't arrive yesterday :( Fingers crossed for today. I can't prepare anything else at this point save when it arrives and shipping it out.

think by regular mail (whatever that means now adays) Generally takes about 6-10 business days is my understanding so it should be here any day now..

Do you know what day he posted it? and if there was a tracking receipt with it?

You've been touched a lot! Do you feel violated in a good way? (I'm sorry...I require levity when dealing with difficult situations. :) )

You're at VSC, you'll get an approval before you know it and you can move on to the next set of stresses...like moving costs. Has anyone else looked into them yet? They're crazy! :)

Haven't really worried about that yet. K says he doesn't have much to bring really. Plus he's just going to have his parents send stuff gradually.

I'm not going to take much more than my clothes and personal items. Everything else is replaceable.

He owns his own house and it's filled with stuff. We're going to get rid of a lot of it, but there's still a good deal of stuff to come along. We'd probably get rid of more of it if he was farther away.
