Hey everyone! I sent in my I-130 petition on Feburary 8th and I just got my NOA1 today! Thats good I guess. I read on the form however, that it can take years for a visa number to become availible. That sounds terrible, anyone like to elaborate on that one? I checked the NVS website and I couldn't find much on processing times.

Thanks! Good luck to all!

Hey Cris - if I understand correctly you don't have to wait for a visa number if it's a family based visa, so you should be ok on that count. You're welcome to hang out with us here, but just so you know this is the K1 visa board, so most of us are not married yet, we're waiting for visas to get our fiance/es here so we can marry them. You might get more specific help/comments/understanding from the I-130 board. :)

I got my return receipt today from the post office saying that USCIS received my I-129f on 2-21-08 (I sent it on 2-19-08). But, I'm assuming that's not the NOA1, right? I didn't pay with a check (money order instead), so is there no way for me to check my case status until I get the actual NOA1 directly from USCIS? I'm just becoming a little obsessive. :D

That's not your NOA1, they won't send that until they actually open your petition and deposit your money into their bank account. :( Unfortunately you'll have to wait for the actual NOA1 to arrive in the mail. Mine came from CSC and took about 1.5 weeks, so it shouldn't be too long! It seems like an eternity while you're waiting, though.

Wow, everyone (February 2008 Filers) seems to have gotten their NOA1's already except us :(

We're still waiting for our cash to be checked.

At any rate, here's to a smooth and speedy Visa Process for all of us.

Question - I have recieved my NOA1 on 4, that is also the last updated day at the USCIS status online web-page. I have not been touched since.

Is this within normal time range ? I just saw people been touched repeadetly soon after they recieved NOA1s, should I just call them to check?

Don't call them unless your processed date is passed by 10 or 15 days. I've heard that they get upset if you call them a lot. Mine hasn't been touched either. I think it's fairly random. I've seen people who got lots of touches, but no approval. I've also seen a couple of people post that they didn't have a single touch, but then all of a sudden there was their approval. I know it's hard...but be patient and it'll come through in time.

NOA1 from the 8th, VSC.... The hard copy was postmarked from the 12th but I am not sure when it actually arrived cause no-one was home for 3 weeks.

Got a touch on a Sunday this last week... I think I will try to not look for a couple weeks now cause it is too early and I want to get into a different month from when I sent it in.

Emmett Fitz-Hume: I'm sorry I'm late, I had to attend the reading of a will. I had to stay till the very end, and I found out I received nothing... broke my arm.

I think people will be surprised how fast it will go now. If you have had an NOA1 then i'd suggest getting things in order for when the packet 3 arrives.

21st May 2008 - Visa in hand

29th July 2008 - POE

2nd September 2008 - Married

19th September - Mailed AOS/EAD/AP to Chicago lockbox

25th September - Check cashed $1010.00 (OUCH!!)

29th September - Received NOA's for AOS/EAD/AP

13th October - AOS Petition transferred to CSC!!!

17th October - Biometrics (Tampa Office)

17th October - AOS/EAD Touched

20th October - AOS Touched

21st October - AOS Touched

6th November - AOS/EAD/AP Touched (probably due to change of address)

10th December - EAD approved

I've already been getting things situated. Ordered my IRS transcripts today and getting with my HR guy today or tomorrow to get the letter secured. Also going to fill out the form and start organizing the information for the 'ongoing' relationship.

Also in regards to shipping. I sent my USPS overnight and it ran me only 14dollars and it automatically comes with a tracking number.

I've started doing all that too, I ordered my transcripts last week. lol I am wondering how much it's going to cost to send this huge pile of papers over to the UK. I've got months and months of several page phone bills printed out and I'll be printing out more up till closer to the date of the interview.

The other day my mom told me that it was hard for her to get excited for me because she thinks for some reason that by the time I'm done with all this paperwork I won't feel the same about my fiance

If anything, it's making me realize how much I actually do love him! oiiii
