Why are people so awful!??!?!

I swear i deal with the rudest, meanest people on a daily basis! I know ive posted about the people that i deal with at work, but yesterday and today have been particularly bad! First of all, my boss has literally hundreds of clients that all have pending cases, and he is only one attorney with one assistant (me) and one legal clerk/researcher who works mostly from home. there is only so much in a given day that i can do. plus, to top all of that off, i have to answer the phones, which can ring literally every minute. sometimes my boss is available to answer the phones, but most of the time he's not. hes with a client or at the immigration office or in court or just plain too busy to sit on the phone. why do people not get that!???!???! i had a guy yesterday yell......YELL at me accusing me of not giving my boss his messeges, "why should i leave a messege when he wont get it, you dont give it to him! " that motherf*cking #######.....i really dont like this client to begin with because every time he calls he assumes that my boss will drop everything to talk to him and gets upset when he doesnt. and to tell you the truth my boss dont like him either and usually avoids his phone calls anyway, so its not like he doesnt know when this client has called, he just elects not to talk to him when he does call.

From the first day i started here, my boss made it a point to tell me that if someone is rude to me one the phone, that i should tell him so that he can have a talk with his client. He always sticks up for me and doesnt let anyone talk down to me. But yesterday, i actually yelled back at the client. the first time ive done that, and believe me ive wanted to do that! Plus, im not good at yelling, and im six months pregnant, so i was getting really warm, heart racing, face getting all red, baby kicking away at the belly from the stress. Was that stress on my baby absolutely necessary.......definately NOT!!! why should some ####### with power trip affect my health???????? He really upset me bigtime..... Afterwards, when my boss got out of his meeting i told him "a client yelled at me and i yelled back" first thing he said was "good"...then he asked who it was, when i told him which client he said "#### that guy!"

he called again today and my boss took his call....but he had his door closed so i couldnt hear what he said to the guy.....

So please, if you took anything away from this nonsense, its just that if you have a bone to pick with someone, dont take it out on the secretary! they just may be pregnant and a little crazy.............

hahahahaha Sorry you'rehaving to deal with such idiots..happens on a daily basis to many of us, I would imagine, on some level or another, but being pregnant it really is unnecessary to have to deal with all that...good to hear that your boss sticks up for you tho..if he didn't that would be even MORE stressful for you!! Baby was prol' like...oh...go get 'em Mommmmm!!!! :) M.

My daughter goes crazy from time to time with the clients at her Mom's law office. Some people can just be down-right evil!

Some people only care about themselves, and could care less about you, if your pregnant, or a man, or a 3 headed hamster, as long as they get to yell at someone about something stupid, then they will do it. Its an insecurity problem on their end. So try to stay calm and not let ignorant people get the best of you.

Funny thing is, as i was thinking about it last night... i told myself that today, if he (or anyone else for that matter) decided to yell, that i would stay calm, and just repeat myself "sir/mam he is not available, can i take a messege..." that would have irritated the hell out of him!

Why does your boss take on so many clients if he can't handle them all? Sounds like he needs a partner or turn away clients.

already am, in about a month im gonna be a stay at home expectant momma (that is the official title anyway)....so i only have to deal with ####### for one more month!

will be the longest month if this keeps up............then i can have about three months stress free, until baby is born anyway!

I can understand why that guy might be getting a bit upset himself. He has paid money to an attorney that is avoiding his calls. What would the comments be if that same guy posted here saying how his immigration attorney would never answer his messages. There would be a line a mile long wanting to lynch the attorney. Yeah ... someone needs to think of someone other than themselves once in a while.

and yeah, i do understand he is upset, but it is no reason to be a complete ### and act like a two year old towards someone who has nothing to do with it.

Oh believe me i completely understand that! answering the phones and telling clients that have called previously that he cant talk to them is the only part of my job i hate! but there is also only so much that we can do here in the office until its out of our hands....most of our clients assume that because hes an immigration attorney that hes got major pull....he has no pull, noone has pull, when its out of our hands, its out of our hands....this client is waiting on security clearance...........need i say more, we all know how long that can take, and theres nothing we can do about it, cant make it shorter, cant force anything! (well, without a lawsuit, but not until its been awhile). Whenever we find out anything that would have an impact on our clients, we let them know immediately, and i make it a point to take matters into my own hands and notify the clients myself. this guy seems to think that there is some huge conspericy against him and we are not telling him the truth, blah blah.....

I just wish i was better at sticking up for myself, been at this job a year and that was the first time i did that, and there have been countless other times were i wish i would have.....

ohhh... i hear u... i got the same thing from the people who call for the loan officer and they didnt get the call back and I - the receptionist/adminnistrator - have to endure their frustration

it looks like an easy job but it's stressful u have to come up with excuses of why the person dont return call or busy.. oh man..

but there're some good ones who are really really nice and talk very nicely and very patient.. so everytime they call i'm always happy to help.

the receptionist at my Family lawyer's office scared me...she was always so brusque

in time I learned to really like her..she was only doing her job and that phone rang off the hook

Thank you! thats what i tell people, and thats almost always the case, he'll call back as soon as he can, hes just a busy man! why is that so hard to understand??
