Obviously I'm in the minority here, but the guy's response was humorous...offensive yes, but humorous and he was being sarcastic, IMO, as opposed to the woman who was being quite serious.

i didnt think that the guy was joking...i thought he was just as serious as the woman

It's very interesting that some of the stereotypical adjectives applied to Black women by the White woman (overweight, bossy, materialistic, etc. etc. etc.) are often applied to White American women by some White men to justify their preference for East and Southeast Asian(and sometimes Latina, Russian, etc.) women.

i disagree, i think that hes saying that many black men have become intimidated by strong black women, so they go for white women who are more 'docile'...he is putting himself in the position of the black man who can 'handle' such a strong woman, like hes better than these other black men who arent as strong and secure as he is

The bottom line: a lot of people find people of other ethnicities to have an exotic beauty. I think black men date white women because they think they're beautiful and have a "connection" with them. There are also racists in every ethnic group who just don't like their men/women holding hands with someone of another mold.

I thought the exact same thing when I read it. I know it's not true, but my wit just works that way.

I have even heard the dumb ####### about Lindsay from people I used to consider friends. She's Canadian. There's basically no cultural gap outside of eh and y'all, yet my "friends" could find a way to degrade canadians.
