Ok, so I got a receipt from the post office when I mailed off Aidan's packet. I checked up online and the package was signed for yesterday at 2:26pm.

I got all excited and went to the uscis.gov site, and then couldn't remember how to sign in. Then I remembered that I had signed in last time with the receipt number on the back of my I-129F check. So I got all excited again and checked my bank account, but the I-485 and I-765 checks have not been cashed yet. :(

Is there any other way to check the status of Aidan's AOS packet...or do I have to wait for them to cash the checks?

Thanks! :luv:

As far as I know you do need to wait until you get the receipt number as until that happens the package may not have even been opened. Our checks were cashed pretty quickly and NOA's received so you shouldnt have to wait for long

Congratulations. Once you receive the receipt NOA you can track the petition on the USCIS site using the receipt number.

Hmm...I've got another question though. Whenever I go to the uscis.gov website, it wants me to log-in. Didn't I have to create an account for Aidan's I-129F petition? Couldn't I use this same information to log-in, and it'll show both petitions (if they have his I-485 entered into the system)?? :help:

We set up a new account, but I would imagine you can use the same account you used for the K-1 petition and add the new cases when you know the case number.

Just because they received that packet that doesn't mean they're ready to process your application. You have to expect a LONG period of nothing at all happening, so really there's nothing to check on yet. The next thing that'll happen is that you'll get your NOA1 letter and they'll cash your check but it might take four to six weeks for them to get to you. That's an awfully long time to sit on the edge of your seat waiting :P

Ok, 4-6 weeks? That really sucks. I didn't think it would take that long at all. :(
