How long until the interview? The letter that I received is from the NVC and says that he should receive his packet in about a week. What's next?

Phil was so happy - he couldn't sleep last night. What a weight lifted - it's fantastic!

You're a baker? Me too - I love to bake. I'm actually a long way from Seattle. I am in the Midwest - about half way between Minneapolis and Chicago - in Wisconsin.

Yeah, that is what I do, but not at the moment as I have been in the UK and am not allowed to work here. I did a wedding cake over the summer when I was home which just helped me to realize how much I really miss baking!

BTW...it took 6 weeks for our NOA2 to arrive (we actually got packet 3 first!), so hopefully yours is its way...and if you ever call USCIS get the name and employee number of the operator(s) you speak with...I was hung up on by one of the horribly rude turkeys!

Really just so glad for you that your petition is already with the NVC, after our NOA2 it took CSC a month to forward our petition, so your that much more ahead of the game! Really you must still be over the moon, congratulations again!

Just in case...as I really don't know how far along you guys are but if your SO has not got his police certificate yet I suggest he go ASAP to his local police station and apply for one. Below is a link so he can fill in the forms, or he can pick them up at the station.

Don't panic...sorry I know that's easy for me to say...UK immigration terrify me...I was grilled on my second trip and ever since then I dread POE. But you are all set, you are doing the lawful thing, you've gone thru the visa process...why on Earth would anyone do that, get approved and then break the law?

Are you all packed? Egghhh...I hate packing!

As for police check, I managed to get my forms online from the local police constabulary

Phil has his police certificate. In fact we completed all of the paperwork for the I134 already. All he has to do is send in the proper paperwork (I clipped together what he had to send and instructions on the front of it with a post it note). I know, I am so organized but he isn't so I have to be for the both of us. LOL

We are ready - just going through the motions.

He signed the house contract for the house in the UK so that is taken care of and his retirement is February 29th. So we're ready to rock and roll. I hope that he doesn't have any trouble coming in for his visit next week.

Jeraly - I'll send you cheese whenever you want. Yes, I'd love your address. You are moving to California, yes? Phil's son is a Production Attorney in Hollywood. We stayed at his home on our way back from Figi and it was wonderful. We plan on taking many trips to California for visits - in fact we are planning a trip to take the girls to Disneyland this summer. Then in December, we are going to Vancouver, Canada to meet his other son's fiancees' family and will probably go into LA for a visit there as well.

Phil has just invited me to his class reunion which will be held in Bangkok in April. Not sure if I want to go or whether we can go. I'll have to look into it a bit more as far as immigration is concerned.

Pretty much all packed - but yeah - totally nervous. I am terrified I won't get through. Well this time tomorrow I will be on my way to Dublin... I can't wait until I am through immigration and can relax a bit *sigh*

Yay!! You can come visit! We'll be a ways out of Hollywood - about a couple hours east but still!! We want to go to Universal Studios so maybe that will be our excuse

As for going to Bangkok, I think it is unlikely that you will get Advance Parole in time for April (I may be wrong) but it might be worth Phil moving to the US via Bangkok - you can meet there then fly into the US together on his K-1

Going thru Dublin POE...good! Then you can relax on the long flight instead of anticipating POE in the US! Lets us know how you get on.

We will be in Bristol while you are away...we have friends nearby that we are going to visit/say goodbye to. We will be taking a little detour thru Bristol to try and find some Banksys.
