oh, Audrey, I said it before, but: I'm so very happy for you :) :)

to think you were probably approved around a month ago, but didn't know!! all that extra stress... that's happened to a few people recently; I can't understand how files skip the system like that... oh well, it's sorted now; all the best in chasing down a copy of your NOA2 from USCIS ;)

and at least this way you're about a month further on than you would have been if the approval just came now ;)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

How long until the interview? The letter that I received is from the NVC and says that he should receive his packet in about a week. What's next?

Phil was so happy - he couldn't sleep last night. What a weight lifted - it's fantastic!

I wish for everyone still waiting to feel this feeling very very soon!

Well, the long wait is over! I recieved a letter from the National Visa Center and it says we are approved and within a week, it will be forwarded to the embassy in London.

I can't tell you how happy I am - so relieved. I am crying now and my 7 year old is asking why. When I told her that we were approved, she wanted to know what kind of cake we were having for the wedding. So cute.

So, I am so happy and cannot wait to tell Phil - I will be talking to him in about 45 minutes. Can't wait.....

THANK YOU so much to everyone that has given support in any way - I truly appreciate knowing such wonderful people. So onto the next stage of this journey...

07/20/07 confirmed delivered by US Postal Service

8/23/07 No NOA1 !!!!

8/23/07 phoned USCIS (told they can't help until after 90 days)

8/23/07 contacted bank to get copy of Cx check...illegable...noc WAC#

tried for weeks to get actual check....not possible, had to wait the 90 days for info from USCIS

10/17/07 Phoned USCIS, got thru (!), got WAC number and NOA1 date!!!!

07/26/07 NOA1 (never recieved hard copy, was promised a copy would be sent)

11/01/07 Ordered copy of "long form" UK B.C.

11/05/07 Recieved B.C. (Wish USCIS was that fast!)

11/09/07 Submitted request for UK police records

12/04/07 APPROVED By USCIS NOA2 letter sent (or so they claim)

12/15/07 Police certificate recieved

12/28/07 Called NVC, not in system

01/04/08 petition forwarded to London

01/12/08 packet 3 received *rubs eye in disbelief* Speed and efficiency, can it be?

01/18/08 HARD COPY OF NOA2 ARRIVED...seems the snail made a wrong turn somewhere.

01/28/08 Returned packet 3 to London Embassy

02/12/08 Medical completed...no problem.

02/13/08 Packet 4 received from London Embassy

03/03/08 Embassy Interview

03/06/08 Visa Arrived....Lovely to finally see it even if it is a bit drab...after 8 month you think they'd have sprung for some gold foil or at least a COLOR photo?

TODAY...he's here! He's in the US! Hurrah!

Yeah - seems USCIS are just ####### - you might have to nag them to send your NOA2 if it hasn't arrived yet - those touches aroun the beginning of the year suggest to me that your NOA2 was prolly end of Dec/beginning of Jan, it was sent to NVC around the middle of Jan with those other touches and now you just got the letter or something... speculation I know but ;)

Ok. If it were me. I would first of all call DOS/NVC to find out if NVC has your case - you can call either - just be prepared to wait a while on the phone :whistle: I am pretty certain they are on central time. Once you have found out if it is there/has been sent to embassy I would then call CSC/USCIS and ask specifically about your NOA2, stating that you know your case has been received by NVC but that you have received no NOA2 and what the hell are they going to do about it.

TBone normally has some good suggestions on how to talk to the front-liners as it were :lol: Might be worth a chat with him!! :D

Ahhh Wisconsin... famous for its cheese... but still not as good as British cheese ;)

I beg to differ. Phil has always told me that our cheese just doesn't compare to his. Well, I live about 6 miles from this cheese factory (www.carrvalleycheese.com) and they have the best cheese.

This cheese factory took several cheeses to the UK in London and won 7 awards. Some of the best are the 8 and 10 year cheddar and also check out the "Award Winning Cheese" section. You'd be amazed. And they ship anywhere you want.

At Christmastime - I sent 5 gift boxes to the UK and it was a hit. Try it...
