I don't think Amber is shallow as a person. I suspect she and her friends are very close because she is an honest person and she probably attracts equally honest and laid back friends.

This has nothing to do with wether anyone thinks her internet persona is "cool". She said herself, that this is the internet-it's not real.

It is merely an exchange of opinion which is based from her own comments. There is no hate or any emotion either way, not from me anyway.

After all Amber said herself, she is unfazed as" this is the internet-it's not real," right?

But I still contend, she was not honest with her friends in the beginning with her selection process; she told them she selected out of a hat-only later they found out that they were selected based on looks. That's not mutual honesty. Just as well her friends seem to be cool with it; and that really is the mark of a friend.

Amber just seems proud to be shallow, and that is what disturbs me. Saying "that's just Amber" doesn't make it any better. I never get involved in these types of threads but something about it just really irks me. I personally can't understand choosing bridesmaids by looks. I have 6 bridesmaids which I think is a very large number but they are my nearest and dearest and I couldn't leave any of them out. To choose someone to be a witness to your marriage based on if they are pretty or not is just sad. Amber talks about choosing her bridesmaids the way a high schooler would choose what table to sit at during lunch.

But IMO there's a big difference in saying, "I don't want you in my wedding party because I've chosen to use bisexual dwarfs instead." and "I don't want you in my wedding party because I don't think you're sufficiently attractive." Can't everyone agree that it's mean? Amber said so herself. But you're right, she can do whatever she wants.

I can agree. Personally, I don't give a flying frack what she does. If you are going to admit that on the world wide web in a lucid state of divine selfishness, then you have to be willing to accept the fact that not everyone will be in one accord with it.
