Are American men scared of American women?

All women scare me, but if I had to choose which ones are the scariest, I'd the women from the Canary Islands. I hear they sharpen their teeth on sandstone.

Nah. Sandstone is poisonous to breathe in.

They've built an immunity. That's why they can give birth standing up. If the Patriot's offensive line were made of Canary Island women, Tom Brady would have won yesterday's Super Bowl.

For those who have never looked at my profile (shame on you!) Justin and I met in person. BUT, I don't see anything wrong with using a dating site if someone's targeting a certain population on the search for love.

With that said, OP, maybe instead of going to a website, you could take a trip/ vacation there?

Why is this weird? Last time I looked, the numbers were extremely high of people on VJ that found their fiancé(e) online.

 this is true, I'm surprised at this reaction too! previous polls show that 70-75% of VJ members have met their SOs online*, why is it so weird that the OP is asking for advice on maybe a dating site that has worked well for others?

read what i wrote, stop skimming! sigh

it doesnt apply to you unless you sat one day and sd " IM GONNA GO ONLINE AND FIND ME A WOMAN"!

and im aware many on VJ met their SO online, i never sd anything against finding your SO online, dont put words in my mouth. I stated it was weird to wake up one morning with a feeling of needing to go online and SEARCH YOUR SOULMATE.

Would this apply to people that join dating sites? or are you talking about using a marriage broker?

I have, but did not find my Alla through one.

I don't see a problem in looking online. I think that's lost the stigma it had in the late 90s/early 00s. But did you use a marriage broker? I think that's what most people object to. Men who say, "I'd like a Filipina. I will pay 20 dollars to meet Filipinas who have indicated they would like to marry an American."

What kind of cookie?

Asking, "Why is it weird?" is not taking offense. It is a question. My point was the O/P never said what you are implying to fulfill what you call "weird" He only asked for recommended foreign introduction sites. He didn't get specific. He never said, "I want a soulmate from Bulgaria ONLY!"

a cookie for you :)

you finally hit it in the nail of what i was saying.

Its NOT weird to go online looking for ppl to meet and talk to and BOOM you met your love, however to go online and specificlly look for your soulmate, right down to country of origin, then its weird.

You did exactly what i sd was NOT weird, so i dont know why you took offence to it.

There's a novel idea

All you need is a modest house in a modest neighborhood

In a modest town where honest people dwell

Well said, Caro. :thumbs::yes:

I think what throws some people off is the OP said he's looking for his 'soul-mate' via a website. I don't think anyone can claim to know how one finds their soulmate, no matter what avenues they try.

Peanut butter cookie :D

Im just saying, its really weird to come on an immigration site and ask for sites to non-usc ppl so he can find his soul-mate. thats my opinion, wheather he is going to buy her or not, its weird to do that.

and match.com and chemistry.com are sites usually where you look for ppl within your country, not non USC's.

yahoo personals, msn personals, i have no offence to them

but when you come on an immigration site and ask a board how to get a good site to meet a foriegn woman, its just weird.

Why? Some use a marriage broker to find a marriageable woman. How is that different? For some, I'd bet it's the same.

well i also went thru the first page of the thread " How did you meet your fiance"

and it was mostly met in person situations, so i just dont have tim to go thru pages and pages of a thread to see the same thing over and over. i was not and never will degrade anyone who met online, hell ive met my ex boyfriend online, but i wouldnt go searching for a soulmate online out of nowhere

My point was (before i go home)

!. yes its weird to me to call a broker and ask to buy a specific person

2. its weird to me to wake up one day, have an urge to be with a certain person from a certain country and then join a immigration forum to find out good sites to find my who knows who foriegn soulmate

Speaking of Soulmates, I was just reading that only 5% of marriages will make it to their 50th anniversary. Scaaaary!

I like those.

Who better to recommend a site than people already in international relationships? Seems a very logical place to request this sort of information.

Yep. Soul-mate evokes a strong image - the idea that there is one and only one person out there for us. IMO, anyone seeking their soul-mate is just setting themselves up for disaster no matter how they meet their future spouse.
