I remember watching this show once on MTV where men would go to Russia on some sort of package vacation to specifically find a bride. Everything is planned out - the girls are ready to mingle - and they have to just show up to all these different scheduled social events where they start to make their picks and then narrow them down as the week goes on.

I wonder if anyone here did something like that.

I have talked to a lot of guys who have foreign wives, but none who did that. I think most guys meet on a web site, or are introduced by family or friends. It never interested me (seemed kinda like going to a bar on the prowl, which I was never into) so I didn't try it.

I think internet dating is a really good way to meet people... You can bypass all the bs and just talk to each other.

I met my wife on CB chat. Two of my wife's cousins met their husbands there too. Yes I think they have group tours, but none of us used them.

BTW, in my wife's somewhat limited English, she used to call CB "the site of marriage".
