WASHINGTON, Feb 3 (Reuters) - Democrats Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are running neck-and-neck in California, New Jersey and Missouri two days before the sprawling "Super Tuesday" presidential showdown, according to a Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll released on Sunday.

Obama has a slight lead in California and is virtually tied with Clinton in New Jersey and Missouri heading into the biggest day of voting ever in a U.S. presidential nominating campaign, with contests in 24 states.

Obama, an Illinois senator who would be the first black U.S. president, also has a comfortable 20-point lead in Georgia fueled by a more than 3-to-1 advantage over Clinton among black voters.

And just a few days ago someone got all into party mood over Hillary having practically grabbed California already. I'm sure that we'll be lectured soon about margins of error...

Well, this poll might turn out to be an outlier. Never know.

I think I can wait until Tuesday night. We'll see.

I was watching an interview with Zogby CEO and founder last night about the poll. The volume was too low for me to hear all that he was saying (phone interview), but the numbers on the screen showed some very very close races in many of the states, with a margin of error of about 2.9.

Both Obama and Clinton have been showing Ads on TV here a lot. My impression is that Obama's conveys a more genuine message, while Hillary's Ad sounds like she's promising the world. That's just my overall impression.

From Rasmussen.... the Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll can no longer be dismissed as an outlier!

Election 2008: California Democratic Presidential Primary

California: Obama 45% Clinton 44%

Sunday, February 03, 2008

In California’s Democratic Presidential Primary, Barack Obama now holds a statistically insignificant one-point lead over Hillary Clinton. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in California shows Barack Obama with 45% of the vote while Hillary Clinton earns 44%. Earlier in the week, Clinton had a three-point advantage in what has become an extraordinarily close race.

Five percent (5%) of voters are still undecided, 5% say there is still a good chance they could change their mind, and 19% say they might change their mind. Part of the indecision appears to stem from the fact that Democratic voters generally like both of their remaining candidates.

Obama now leads by ten points among men while Clinton leads by five among women. Fifty-seven percent (57%) of the Likely Primary Voters are expected to be women. Clinton leads among senior citizens while Obama has the edge among voters under 65.

I can't help but be filled with a feeling of dread that Hillary is going to win. I don't know why, but no poll can convince me otherwise.

It's the Oprabama factor. Oh, and with Lady Caroline too, such an excellent way to choose a candidate. Personally, I find something about Obama creepy but I have no idea what it is.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Oh, she probably will. But at least it appears that it won't be a slam dunk.

Well, another four to eight years of feeling totally impotent politically coming up, then. I used to spend tons of my time in activism, and while moving away from one of America's most liberal towns (Madison), graduating college and entering journalism have all played a part in my waning interest in those activities, the biggest culprit has probably been my growing apathy inspired by seeing so many politicians I don't even like as my only choices election after election.

ARGH.

Good to see Obama is closing the gap. I have a feeling, Obama will win on Tuesday and thus will become the nominee. I think. Obama should ask Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebilius, a very popular gov. in that red state to be his running mate. But let's see what happend on Tuesday.
