I haven't seen any of the feminazis around yet.... give it time.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Girls compete harder with other females on average than guys vs., other guys.

Also, not to pull out the old PMS thing, but some women go nuts with hormones at times.

Another thing I've experienced is if I treat some woman nice, respectful, and considerate they in turn treat me like #######. The same woman who I ignore or just say hello when we bump into each other then goes out of their way to chat, arrange lunch, etc.

An angry man will do the same thing but use three knives and a handgun, then set the house on fire. Just to be thorough.

It sounds like you need to gather more data and consider variables.

That's so true.

I don't think those situations really have a whole lot to do with being "nice" or not. I'd say it has more to do with confidence. As far as I can tell, most women find confidence in a potential partner to be extremely attractive and often value it far beyond many tangible qualities.

Meh, I dunno really....I think it's a lil bit of what everyone's saying here. When I was in my 20s, many of my closest friends were male. I did find women to be irrationally bitchy...I had a best friend for years who always felt like 'competing' with me which to me was completely OTT. I got married a month out of college, and as a wedding gift, my family furnished our condo. And I like antiques and stuff, so it was all really great furniture and whatnot...solid cherry framed couches, etc. My family picked it up at antique stores and auctions...the couches themselves were painted white with this awful tapistry on it. So we as a family stripped the frames and stuff. Each piece of furniture had a story...and I was soooo proud of all my stuff. It was deffo a labor of love, and more meaningful than just writing a check.

My best gf, upon coming into my place, was all 'omG I HATE those lamps'

Like who the fock does summat like that? What was the need? Would I throw them away? No. So it was just bitchiness for no reason....which I think girls in their 20s are more capable of.

Conversely, now that I'm older, I find I gravitate towards women. I have one particular friend who is a Godsend to me & I love her like a sister. I think if I were to be overly close to men at this stage, it'd be a bit inappropriate. D is always of the notion that men and women cannot be true friends without one having some sort of feelings for the other. In my case, it has proven to be true in some cases. Not all...but enough to think that maybe he's onto something. Would I be bothered with him hanging out everyday with a woman? I probably would. I trust him with all my heart, but if his BFF was a chick, I think I'd have an irrational thought every now and again.

For me personally I grew up in a house with 2 older brothers.. I always got in trouble cause when their "guy" friends came over, they wanted to hang out with me.. I didn't have any girl friends until I went to public school and I think early on I just figured out how to relate to "guys" better.

I've seen so many girls stab each other in the back, be in some sort of competition, put each other down (and I've done it a few times myself!).. The most extreme case was a girl I knew who ended up marrying her best friend's (girl) boyfriend and created a MASSIVE fight that lasted YEARS...

*sigh.. I've had loads of guy friends over the years, who i have come to understand and who are "amazed" that i'm not like "those crazy chicks".. but the truth is those "guy" friends come and go, and I'm always the one trying to keep the relationships current - like keeping in touch etc. the guys that I know just aren't as "into" that stuff. The handful of girl friends I did mange to keep in my life are there forever.. we've managed to keep in touch over the years and we are as tight as ever.

I also find myself when I walk into the room subconsciously (and some times consciously obviously), scoping out the females, and seeing who has better hair, a better body a better personality, etc. and playing the mental game with that individual.. my self worth is sometimes attached to how "high" up in the appearance/personality chain I am that night.. it's completely bogus, I know that, but that's where I go sometimes to be quite honest.. the whole one up thing really does exist IMO.. and I hate that part about myself.

When i met my husbands x-wife the FIRST thing I told her was that I was in no way competition, i REFUSED to play that game. It was a straightforward talk I had with her, and I believe it did something to diffuse the tension and clear the air about my intentions esp in the lives of her children.. SO.. honesty and admitting it's there, and refusing to give into it is IMO the best way to handle it! :)
