Thanks! 19 days to go...

Its funny.. even with the long long wait at VSC this time(5 months compared to 3 weeks last time), it only took 7 months to get to the interview.. last time Delhi took forever.. now they are very quick.. i wonder if they have new management.. i hear the consulate officers change posts every year...

Hiya,

Here is my update. I havent got all the documents yet.

Manish will mail I-134 and supporting docs to me today which I will receive in couple of days. However following the instructions of Packet 4 that "ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE PRESENTED AT YOUR NEAREST VFS OFFICE NO EARLIER THAN FIFTEEN (15) WORKING DAYS AND NO LESS THAN TEN (10) DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR INTERVIEW" I went to VFS today and told them that I want to pay for the courier fee but I wont be submitting any of the docs along with it. They were OK with it and asked me to carry those docs along with me in the interview. They gave a receipt which I will be carrying along with me for the interview. I went to VFS Office, International Trade Tower, Nehru Place, New Delhi.

After submitting VFS fee I went to the Embassy's panels physician and collected my Medical report. Report is all clear, No issues and I am asked to carry it to the interview.

On reaching back home I found our Packet 4 in Post. Since I got duplicate copy of it from consulate I dont need this now. But I will keep it, If I need a extra Form.

So now am pending on PCC & I-134 form. Rest everything done :-)

I went to Local Police Station to find our my LPC status. They said that they are expecting it by friday. So I will follow up with them again on Friday.

After going through the whole process I would like to suggest, if you havent got all the documents (like PCC, medical report, I-134, etc) but you HAVE the interview date and schedule, dont panic. PAY THE COURIER FEE at VFS and get everything ready before the interview date. This will give you enough of time and you will not lose your interview date either.

All the best.

Cheers!!!

Manya

Thanks for the update. I am not sure if my fiance should submit it now or just pay and submit the paperwork at the interview... Any suggestions?

Another thing my fiance told me, she knows someone who already submitted to VFS, they said that she had to handwrite the DS156, they didnt accept the computer typed one. It seems this happened to Parags fiance in the summer as well.

Hi CJ, your fiancee can Pay the courier fee and submit paperwork at the interview if she is filing in VFS, Nehru Place, Delhi. I am not sure about other VFS offices. However VFS, Nehru Place, Delhi is ok with it. If she has all the documents ready then she can submit documents as well. If she expects some of the documents late but before the interview date, she can pay the courier fee only at VFS. This way you wont lose your interview date.

For DS156 if you have heard of not accepting printed/typed Forms by VFS/Consulate, I think it would be better to submit a handwritten form. I have filled all of my forms by hand.

It is always better to submit as much paperwork as possible at the VFS office 10-15 working days before the interview. They go through it beforehand and often make the final decision (whether they approve the visa or not) before the actual interview. When they get all the paperwork only on the day of the interview, they are rushed and may need more time to approve it.

Thanks everyone. My fiance is all ready to submit now. She also handwrote the DS156K and DS156 forms.

We are getting more and more nervous as we get closer. The package I sent to her was almost 10 pounds of evidence. I wanted to make sure they had no doubts...
