Have anyone try request to open provisional file? I mean after you receive NOA2. I'm not sure if it works in Saigon, Vietnam. Please let me know if it works.

Thanks,

Thanks,

AFAIK, HCMC does not open provisional files any longer. And since you petitioned for a K-1, provisional files aren't necessary because K-1 do not stay very long at NVC.

You can try and ask HCMC. Let us know if you do.

Sure, I will email US Consulate tomorrow morning, but I don't think it works in Vietnam. I tried help my friend to request provisional file open since he got NOA2 appoved. But He haven't heard anything back from US Consulate. So, I assumed, it won't work. However, I'll give it a try again...who khows .:-). Happy TET to all of you.! I know this is a bit late, but thought I'd post an update anyway. I requested the provisional file, and although we didn't receive any official notice, my fiance got his packet 3 two days after the consulate received our case from NVC. I'm not convinced he would have gotten it that quickly if they had not opened a provisional file for him. Hope your process is going smoothly!
