During the biometrics, I, witnessed a scene that made me ashamed a little to call myself a USC. We were waiting in line after filing out the form we were given....we had about 15 people ahead of us. The person being 'served' at the counter looked to be South Asian (perhaps Indian, but I don't know). He gave his papework, the woman at the reception desk verified it, gave it back to him and gave him a #. After he walked off to take a seat and wait, the woman took a can of disinfectant spray(like Lysol) and sprayed the counter and around her immediate area. :o:o:o I couldn't believe what I was seeing....shameful! She didn't do it again, w/ anyone else while we were there, but it just didn't sit well w/ me. At the end of the biometrics, they gave my husband a yellow survey form to fill out, commenting on how he liked the "service" provided to him at that office. I was tempted to write this incident down there, but we were in a hurry to make it to the next appointment we had, and I just didn't have time. In any case, it was not well done of the USCIS worker. Not well done at all! <_<

yes theres alot of things you see after being married to someone not from usa. that make one ashamed of there own country and people. but yes that was pretty rude. i really dislike people that think there better then everyone else. just because you dont have all the fancy things or live in big fancy house your a no body. and thats what i dont like to see

Maybe the guy smelled really bad?

Or maybe it was apparent to someone close that he was sick with the flu or something? In either case, I can understand spraying down the counter so that other customers weren't offended or at risk of getting sick.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Well, her doing that right in front of everybody wasn't so great, but.....did he smell bad or look unclean?

We have had clients in our office who smelled so deplorable that we hosed the place down with Lysol. But we have more privacy and can do it after they go when no one else is looking.....

some people are just germ freaks and she might spray off and on thru the day. there is a girl i work with who comes in after me and pulls out her clorox wipes every morning and wipes down the desk. stupid her she forget to run her rag on the keyboard and mouse.

No, he just looked 'foreign'....that's it. I paid attention afterwards, because my first instinct was to think that perhaps it was a genuine "disinfecting" thing as Platy suggested. This guy wasn't sick looking, he did not cough or blow his nose during the rest of the time there. As to whether he smelled bad...I don't know, I didn't get that close to him....but even so, you don't do that in a public area tha 'serves' many different people. I bet, something like this would have struck most of us odd if it had hapenned at a Post Office for example. Maybe it would even have resulted in either a witness or even the "recipient" spreaking out against such action. Difference here....it was an office that services immigrants, so its OK to behave in a manner that indicates that they're considered 'second-class' citizens.

They made me rub some lotion on my hands, they claimed my hands where too dry.

God knows if that was a disinfectant stuff too.

Erm excuse me I had my fingernails freshly manicured and I am from Germany HELLO!!!

No, this stuff lubricates your hands so it can take better fingerprint images. It's nothing to do with how clean you are...
