I've been getting emails from friends and family in Ontario throughout the day. Looks like they're getting pounded. Checked out the Cams Across Ontario website and clicked on Burlington Waterfront..... which is where I used to walk to from my last home before I sold it and moved here. This is part of the email from one of my friends:

"We are up to our eyeballs in snow. I just figured out how to start our snowblower, out of necessity. The snow drift was at least 1 foot deep in our driveway and the snow is supposed to continue until midnight, combined with ice pellets and freezing rain. I catapulted a small portion of our grass and some perennials into the middle of our lawn. I must go out and try to cover up the evidence later."

I miss my friends, my family, and snow days. On the bright side, we're going to the beach.

I know! I laughed at that too. We used to work together. We had so much fun. When I left, she took early retirement. Said she went from looking forward to going into work each day to hating going into work each day. (She used to report to me.) When she and her husband came to visit last September her husband gave me heck for the loss of income. lol

Anyhooooo..... I digress. Hubby had asked me to go to the beach for the weekend. Sarasota or Bradenton area (Siesta Key/Anna Maria Island). At first I said yes, but then I changed my mind. We've just gotten back and I'm still catching up on everything that was neglected and/or accumulated while we had our visitors. It's our second first wedding anniversary tomorrow. (Yes, Groundhog Day.) So I think he was trying to make up for forgetting our first first wedding anniversary. But I still have time to change my mind back. It's a woman's prerogative, you know. ;)

Look at this camera picked up--Sundin Golfing, as usual the Leafs are preparing to defend their NHL players association championship held yearly in April! Too bad the real teams are still playing hockey then!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Wow. Just checked the Burlington Waterfront cam and it's amazing how the lake went from crashing over the piers yesterday to absolutely total calm today. Back home it's a gray day, while here the sky is the most brilliant blue with not a cloud to be seen. *sigh* I love nature.

That's an interesting site. I like how you can see the degrees of light and dark as you look across the country. I wonder why they don't have all the provinces, though?

This Ontario cam site is great! I love being able to see home.

I don't miss shoveling - that WAS a funny account of "catapulting" the grass lol

The bright side is pretty bright - the option to beach is a good one to have :)

Happy second first anniversary!
