Did I say they were making things up?

Jeez... #######...

I think I've been pretty clear that its been personal observation versus overgeneralized, blanket statements based on anti-immigrant sentiment. Oops, sorry, I labeled someone.

As I said, the problem is real and it exists. Your personal observation doesn't change that and, hence, means little to nothing in he grand scheme of things. Kind of like the folks that declare global warming a non-issue because it's been cold one winter day. ;)

R- I also recognize the problem for what it is. And it is a problem that needs to be dealt with, surprise, surprise, from the root on up, not by shutting people out. Whether or not I've personally observed two ER waiting areas repeatedly, every weekday and most weekends, and other (listed) ER waiting areas in the Chicagoland area as someone involved in basic scientific research and health care is apparently inconsequential to those that ONLY see clogged ERs according to what they read and what they WANT to read.

Unfortunately you were not reading the entire exchange that gave issue to the conclusion you erroneously came to but hey, this is VJ. There should be no big surprise there. This is generalization city.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

No, it's a Family Based Immigration Web Site.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Also true :)

Unfortunately with some of the anti-immigrant sentiments some people's posts blab out here I doubt they checked out the "Your Family Immigration Community" part of the logo before trolling their way to our hearts. ;)

It's not like anyone can get an injunction against all this happiness.

Exactly, dignified in reality...

Since you say you're a local, I'll illustrate some of the area hospitals I've picked human tissues from for my work:

1. University of Chicago Hospitals

2. Northwestern Memorial Hospitals

3. University of Illinois Hospital

4. John Stroger Hospital

5. Swedish Covenant Hospital

6. Lake Forest Hospital

7. Central Dupage

8. Loyola University Hospital

9. Silver Cross Hospital

10. South Suburban Hospital

11. West Suburban Hospital

Care to have more names? Since I doubt any illegals had any yellow burritos on their heads denoting they were actually illegals, and I usually pick up tissues at the time they are available, hint hint... all around the clock, my narrow, empirical observations are pretty clear. Clue enough??

That's one person's observations, not beliefs. I say when you decide to make blanket statements that paint you in a particular light that you at least do so with actual facts and not trollicky behavior. Then again, its your right to do as you please.

You'd probably panic if you actually read and saw that I do not support illegal immigration. Oh well.

I'm not impressed. How about getting the administrators of those hospitals to disclose the outlays for services rendered to "undocumented" and illegal residents......

This source, which you decided many posts ago to ignore, talks to what the financial burden to the entire state is in terms of providing services to illegals:

Here's the social costs of illegal immigration in Illinois......

Education- 3.1 billion annually for the eduction of illegals

Healthcare 340 million annually

Incarceration 55 million annually

cost of healthcare for illegals in Illinois

And, I should add, WE'RE NOT A BORDER STATE !!

It's a tired old trick of the other side. They try to lump us in with the anti-immigration crowd with blanket generalizations like that. It's a lack of honesty on their part.

Clarifications can be easily requested :D

But our style here is to generally ignore the obvious.

Sentiment, dear Watson. Like I said just previously, I'm referring to the trollers, not legit sponsors of legal migrants like us.

And some people can't seem to understand that human beings deserve basic respect and attention when in need. Independent of migratory status. Maybe that's why you're not in health care.

Sounds like a Star Wars Jedi Mind trick.

I think I write pretty clearly what "side" of VJ I was referring to.

We are talking about people invading a country contrary to the law not elk migrating to their winter feeding land. They have no right to be here and therefore no right to anything this country gives to the people that are here legally.

Gary, if you believe that to be true, I'll see your hand and raise you five that your camp is doing the same thing.

I don't contend that all the posters to VJ who oppose amnesty are anti-immigrant. What I have attempted to point out, however, is that some of the anti-illegal commentary available today has a basis and foundation in anti-immigrant sentiment. I have tried to ask those of you who are opposed to anmesty to carefully look at your sources before you start espousing them. In my mind, I like to know where 'an expert' is coming from before I buy into their expert opinion.

I guess because I've asked this question, I get lumped into the camp of 'illegal lovers'. Is that honesty on the part of those people who use that term? I hardly think so.

These are human beings, not elk, Gary. Imagine yourself in country X in dire need of medical attention. Oh... right... we have money or at least the representation of money via our nationality not burdening us with having to duck for cover when the law becomes more important than our humanity.

And since it is an issue of a human invasion, besieging every livable space, making it intolerable for anti-immigrant Americans to exist, then these same anti-immigrant Americans really need to push for a more isolationist foreign policy so that we not only close off the borders but also stop giving foreigners an excuse to come here. Illegally, that is.

Right is a legal state of mind, not an absolute. The law can also be changed to reflect quotas, as it once did from certain countries back in the day. See?

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.
