My fiance has a medical date and embassy date already but she did not get anything from the embassy in the mail yet. I was wondering what comes in the first packet and is there anything in it that has to be sent back to the embassy before the interview? What is in packet 4 and does she have to fill the forms out online and print or can she fill the forms by hand? Is there a link to the forms online any where. What does she need for the medical.

The packets tend to be slow to arrive, but most get them in time. You can get all of the forms online, and the DS-156 needs to be filled out online anyway. The only thing on the packet that she really needs is the official appointment letter, so she can get the forms ready before the packet arrives.

since you already have the medical and interview sked, just download the forms from the USEM site. for the appointment letter, you can call St. Luke's and let them know that you will just pick up the packet from them.

Packet 4 normally arrives 4-6 weeks before the interview. Like what Gary said, the only thing she needs from it is the official appointment letter because the DS forms can be downloaded (and fillable) at USEM's website. Meanwhile, why not make her work on filling out the forms? She can also go on her early medical using the printout of her appointments from USEM's website (or NOA2). Packet 4 can be requested at St. Lukes (like what Lani said). Just give them a call. If she'll go on early medical, she can also inform them personally that she wants to request her Packet 4 and if possible, to be picked up during her second day medical. My friend did that and it worked.

Good luck!
