INCLUDE two passport photos of beneficiary for DS230 even if checklist doesn't mention it! NVC has added this new requirement!

Spoke to NVC Operator to confirm recent posts about RFE for passport photo...looks like they are going to request two passport photos to most embassies.

My recommendation for future DS230 fillings, include two passport pictures with case number and beneficiary's name written in the back of the pictures.

can you please post what's the most recent updates for NVC i.e. for Indian Consulates? are you required now to submit police certificates and passport office clearance certificates to NVC or retain them for the consular interview.

if you can share your findings it would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, for India one needs to submit original birth certificate, original police clearance certificates from city police commisioner's office and regional passport office along with original marriage certificate to NVC. Some have submitted certified copies of the same instead of originals. When I spoke to NVC they wanted originals so I mailed them originals.

Hope this helps...Cheers

Mohgli,

My case just turned to status = "complete". We were required to send all civics document (birth, marriage, death, police clearance, RPO clearance) in January, and photographs in February. When sending photographs, make sure to write applicant's name and NVC case #.

Good luck.

^_^ That's good news to hear that they're not stalling ... too bad.

Grats.

( This coming from an Arab who married an Arab from overseas... go figure. )
