Hello....I want to join the February filers train....I sent the AOS/EAD/AP package in on Feb. 11th, it was delivered Feb. 12th...(I live in Chicago, which helps)....so far no news but I guess it is still early....I did make a small booboo that I noticed after I sent the stuff in and it is causing me some grief...I wrote the checks out to "US Citizenship and Immigration Services" and not the "US Department of Homeland Security"....my slip up...hoping they will accept as is....

How do I make my timeline appear below my posts like most people have?

I made out my check to USCIS as well, and they just crossed it out and stamped US Department of Homeland Security next to it. Check was cashed without a problem though.

Hi VJs,

I'm newbie in this forum and plan to file AOS sometimes next month. I have 1 question regarding the fees.

As I understand, the total fees is 1,010 for all forms (485,765,and 131) filed together for K-1 arrival, correct.

I don't have to pay these when filed togheter with 485, right?

I-131 –> $-170 (no cost while I-485 is processed; for travel outside US)

I-765 –> $-180 (no cost while I-485 is processed; allows work)

Thanks in advance.

I have a question as well....when I submitted my package, I used a copy of my marriage certificate. On the government site (travel.state.gov or whatever it is) it just says a copy of the certificate is necessary. Anyone encounter any problems with using a copy instead of the notarized version?

I don't know the answer to this but I had the same doubt....i sent in just a copy of birth certs and marriage cert....which, btw, the watermark on the background said "void" on the photocopies....but the instructions clearly say a "copy" will suffice....a few hours later my paranoia got the best of me and I ended up sending the original copies we had from the County Clerks Office to be added to our file....I guess better safe than sorry....

I think it is really unclear whether they mean a copy that you can get from the CC office or a plain old photocopy....either way, I guess the $15 they charge to get a copy from the CC is not enough to justify fretting about it....

I sent my AOS application in on Feb. 8 and it was delivered in Chicago on Feb. 11, so I'm joining the club of Feb. filers! I'm not sure if my timeline will show up with this post (not that there's much to see), could someone tell me how to add it? Sorry if this may be completely obvious, I'm not good at this stuff.

Have a great weekend everyone! :dancing::dancing:
