Just got the RFE in the mail, they want a medical.....Really pissed...it`s going to cost an arm and a leg :(

Just wondering...do you think it's because the medical is only valid for one year? What date did you receive the RFE?

Weird coz from what i read, the medical only has to be less than a year old at the NOA date.

AOS Approved on 10-17-08 (details in profile)

Removal of Conditions on 07-19-10

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

I love my hubby beyond anything in this world.

Yeah there is some sort of time frame regarding the medical, but I have no idea exactly what it is! This process tends to be very unclear at times. But Jaenglishgirl, although it will cost a lot, at least it's a relatively easy thing to get and you have your EAD and AP already!

you entered the US in seattle, but you are currently living in denver, are you going through denver DO or seattle DO?? im assuming you just entered in blaine WA flew from seattle to denver?

well i went through naturalization first so we could AOS. so its taken just as long.

I entered at Blaine, yes (sorry, not quite Seattle - I've habit of referring to anything below Vancouver as "Seattle" - my bad), and drove to Colorado. The winter road trip that turned into something else...:) But I filed from Denver.

i have a question folks, i see alot of your guys AOS stuff gets transfered to CSC, well i had applied the i130 before everything else, it was at CSC, then transfered to NBC, everything of mine currently resides at NBC, is this a good thing or bad. will it slow everything down???

When the files are transferred to CSC..theres a VERY good chance they will be approved without an interview..I appear to be on track for an interview lol..but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it..I suppose it depends on how busy your local office is. or..other factors..haha who knows..its the government!

good luck!

Without an interview? Is that even possible? Why does only CSC follow this practice?

IT happens quite a bit..for whatever reason they send files to CSC and alot of them of processed without an interview..not all..some will be sent on to their local offices..but ..this site is a great reference point..ALOT of people get approved without one. It doesn't really matter either way..If you're prepared..theres really nothing to worry about with an interview.. good luck!

I was thinking, for those of us doing AOS without having gone through the K-1/K-3 process, we probably need to get our I-130s approved before they will send us our AOS interview appointment, and this may explain why those with later filing dates are getting interviews already. Can anyone confirm that this is in fact that case? Thanks!

That's right-- we're filing for both I-130 and AOS. I noted that my notice had a "date received" and a "priority date." I don't recall what the dates were (either the date I filed or some date in March on which the application was presumably sent on to the field office) but they were identical. My guess is that the interview date partly depends on the field office that handles the interview-- some may move faster than others.
