I got an e-mail that the EAD was ordered yesterday, April 16th. Good news since I have only been pending AOS without EA since March 29th.

Decided to then check if the AP was finally in ol' CRIS...

Yes indeed. Approval notice sent April 12.

Unfortunately (for UCSIS purposes only), we live in Los Angeles so unlike so many others, the AOS has NOT been transferred to CSC. I hear that rarely happens...you gotta wonder why.

Oh well, with EAD and AP, I'm good to go...

Now I can renew that license and drive up PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) pronto

That figure is nearly 70 percent larger than the nation's second-biggest backlog, in Miami.

District Director Jane Arellano says applicants in Southern California typically wait nine months to a year for an interview. But officials say weekend schedules at offices in East Los Angeles, Anaheim and San Bernardino are helping cut that wait.

Nationwide, Citizenship and Immigration Services received 1.4 million applications in 2007, nearly double the number for 2006. "

I realize that naturalizations are the priority here, as they should be, esp during an election year. But if they transferred some AOS cases to CSC, it would let them process more naturalizations at the local field offices.
