Does anybody know how long it will take to get an interview notice? I think I'm going to end up having an interview because I came in on and F-1 visa, and before that on my dad's work visas. And do they usually show it as a touch if you are getting an interview or do you just receive something in the mail? Thanks!

10/17/05 Answered email from him asking to talk

10/20/05 First time talking on hotmail msn

2/5-15/06 First visit, love his family celebrated my 20th birthday there

6/15- 7/15/06 stayed at parents house again in Morocco got engaged

10/16/06 got a good job so I had to wait to see him again

1/14-28/07 went to see him again for the last time in Morocco

2/8/07 happy birthday to me and I sent the papers for K-1

2/12/07 NOA1 for K-1 visa

2/28/07 NOA2 For K-1

3/1/07 sent to Visa Center

4/15/07 interview

STUPID TERRORISTS RUINED THE INTERVIEW DATE

waited for 2 months of nothing

So, I got curious today and started playing with case numbers on the uscis website. Since our three applications (I-130, AOS, EAD) got case numbers all bunched together, I thought maybe the case numbers are chronologically assigned, and if I descend down numbers smaller than mine, I'd get some idea of what case numbers USCIS is working on, and how long it'd take to get a touch on our apps again. It's probably not entirely kosher to look at other people's applications, but the USCIS website doesn't seem to care. And also, there is absolutely no information in any of the status statements that can identify anyone. It's like a cheeky way of getting anonymous samples of case histories (except you don't get the history, just on what happened last and when). Probably that's why the website doesn't have safeguard against peeking at other cases' status. :innocent:

So anyway, as far as I can tell, the case numbers are pretty much chronologically assigned. The cases with numbers within 100 in front of ours were all received around the same time, and their EAD's were all approved around the same time as ours, and none of their AOS applications have made any progress or received any recent touches (depressing! presumably we have no hope of making progress until these before us get touches).

As I looked further back, I realized two things. One is that NBC has a huge caseload. They're processing lots of (relatively) new EAD cases a day. And the other thing is that it's actually quite hard to tell which case numbers (for AOS) they're currently working on, because every case is a little different. Some have RFE's of various sorts. Some have been transferred. The last touches on the AOS applications weren't chronological (unlike the EAD apps). It's basically impossible to figure out what AOS cases they're currently working on. I had a lot of trouble coming up with case numbers that even had a touch within the last two weeks -- only one that said RFE received and case processing resumed.

Anyway, so much for my latest attempt to figure out what's happening with our application. :blush: I'm probably wasting my time, I should do some real work instead! It's just that I'm so anxious about this whole thing!

I had touches after our bio appt. but nothing since. My positive thinking is that I'll start seeing movement on our case next week. Somehow in my mind I'm giving USCIS about 30 days after the bio appt to get the EAD going and about the same for a notice to interview.

If I don't get info on the EAD and a notice to interview by 4/20 I will start to get a little anxious. Just praying everything will work out the way we hope it will.
