I start work today! I'm so excited to be making some extra money. I'm working at Jamba Juice, it's a smoothie place. Not the most exciting job in the world but it's a good job while I'm still attending classes and waiting to graduate in December. Then I can really start bringing home some money!

Congrats that is great, I bet you feel like a million bucks.

Got my EAD card today!!

Congratulations!!

Can't wait for my card. That's the only thing they are asking me to show them before I can start the job I applied 2weeks ago.. *silently waiting*

Thats only for people who have filed for a replacement card.

A k1 visa holder can't work until USCIS has authorized them to work - either via the POE stamp or the EAD card. If you read anywhere that the K1 is "work authorized" then you're reading something from the SSA, not USCIS, and it doesn't count (SSA don't make the decision about whether you can work, just whether you can have an SSN)

read the "Working and travelling prior to getting a green card" forum. This issue is constantly battled.

When you receive the email from CRIS saying card production ordered or EAD approval notice sent, you can show that and it's valid, then when you get the card in the mail, you show them that. My husband had two job offers and that is what they requested and they had immigration specialists providing the info in HR. I didn't mean you can work on just the K-1 Visa...only when you get that approval from USCIS.

I would guess it means your local. I have not had any touches on my AOS or EAD since transfer/biometrics, so thinking I may get the same email soon as well, time will tell I guess.
