Hello all:

Before I post my question I just want to thank anyone associated with keeping this site going and to anyone that has helped us with info thus far.

Topic: I found an error on the I-130 I submitted. I had the incorrect DOB for my wife. I called USCIS and they put in a service request to correct the error. They said that this wouldn't slow down the case.

Question 1: Is anyone familiar with the service request process and do you know if it will cause a delay in my processing?

Topic 2: My bio appt. letters have different names for my wife. One has her "first name, middle name, maiden name", the other has "first, middle, married". Her passport and drivers license has "first, maiden-married". USCIS said they could put another service request in to change the name in the system. They also told me to talk to the people at the ASC bio appt. and they could change it.

Question 2: Should I just do the service request and have the name changed to "first, middle, married" and then change her passport and drivers license to reflect the same?

Question 3: Why do some people's cases get transferred and some do not? Does a transfer have an effect on the processing time?

I hope I haven't posted too much. Should I post this somewhere else? Just so many questions as you all know! :)

Thanks again!

I can only help you with the first question DOB.. They had my daughters DOB wrong on her I129f and they straightened it out without a delay..

The rest I'll leave for someone with facts..I'de merely be guessing!

Anthony Julie: If you're not too busy, could you do a speadsheet for us march filers too? I was hoping to be a Feb filer, but was waiting for a couple of documents. Thanks
Granted, dear!

Does anyone know if the EAD and AP documents are sent to California when the case is transferred? We have had about 5 touches on I-485, but nothing on EAD since biometrics and nothing on AP since we filed.
I'm wondering too.. :)

You were never a mistake. You were my realization.

I agree. Biometrics was a breeze. Unless you have a criminal record, don't have an ID or something strange like that; biometrics is easier than getting a drivers license.

We went to our appointment and we were 30 minutes earlier. We checked in and nobody else was there so they just took us early.

We had one appt. at 2 and one at 3. We finished early and were out of there in 15 minutes.

If you're worrying about your biometrics appt. - don't.

Now the wait for the interview begins, right?

I wonder if anyone here never got the NOA hardcopies but only got the biometrics appointment letter?

I never got my NOAs in the mail but only got the bio letter. So actually I only got one letter in the mail. I wonder if this is something I should be worried about? But I can check my cases online though and that's how I found out about the NOA date.

I remember at the biometrics, they just check my appt letter, though I was so nervous, I brought the NOA and marriage cert together just in case.

So far I only received the NOA for my I-485, I've never received the NOAs for my EAD and AP, they were "undeliverable" when I checked online. How you can find your cases? (What's the status?) I mean how you get the NOA #?

For me, I found the EAD case # on my biometrics appt letter and the AP case #, I asked the officer at the ASC office while doing the biometrics.

Now both my EAD and AP were approved, I was told by the Infopass that there is unnecessary to get the NOAs.

Thanks! I also found out about my case #s from the bio letter..and as for the AP, i was trying to guess the last 2 digits since the AOS and EAD case #s were close to each other and luckily I got the right number. :)

Hi, everyone!

Today I went to get my bio's done. Took an hour. I noticed that government clerks are not very "nice". And I think it is a good thing because it will only prepare us more for the interview. Meaning, I will not be expecting our officer to be all happy and attentive. I realize how many people they have to talk to every single day.

I remember, some time ago, one of the forumers here was not happy at her hubby's appointment because the receptionist sprayed the countertop after a man who did not look quite healthy, talked to her.

I say... with how I was coughing and sneezing today, I should have brought several containers of Clorox and Purell with me, and just spray all over myself and every person in the lobby, lol  I was so embarassed, and still I had to blow my nose in public!

I have a question: does the fact that i have had my bio's taken mean that they do not need any addtional initial evidence from us or they can still send a request?

Sent: February 13th.

Received: February 14th at 2:11 p.m.

Checks cashed: February 22nd.

Noa's dated February 21st : February 25th.

Biometrics appointment : March 15th.

EAD Card ordered: April 17th.

EAD approval notice sent: April 25th.

EAD card received: April 28th.

I agree the bios are the easiest. Now we sit and wait for our appointment letter or RFE (which I hope we don't get). Our case is still not viewable online and that totally sucks!

Hello Wonder-Full VJers,

I, too, went for my biometrix yesterday in some burb of Chicago.

Painless and (almost) fun.

After my appointment letter was stamped and signed, fingerprints & photo taken, I was told that the EAD would be coming, just to please not ask how long...

hahaha!

Glad that part is over with.

Now, yes, tic toc tic toc....

Again: good luck to all of us.

Oops, forgot to add something "funny":

I got a terrible and deep thorn in my thumb a couple of days ago and could not keep digging to get it out; I am only so masochistic...and well, my honey sliced my thumb open and got it out yesterday morning, just an hour before going for prints. HA!

After that print got okayed by the machine, I told the woman taking the prints about the thorn. She laughed and asked to see the hole in my thumb.

We were just laughing and laughing about of all days that that could have happened. :D
