Here, a question appears: is it possible to have biometrics done on Saturday which the 15th is?

Yes, my appointment is tomorrow Saturday. I checked the USCIS website and it said the place is open on Sats...so that set aside any concerns I had.

Update on Biometrics for AP document

I asked about this during my AOS/EAD bio appointment last Sat. The guy at the front desk told me that he had heard about the new requirements, but that he did NOT think they would apply to those of use who applied before the new rules went into effect. Sounds reasonable to me, but that was just his opinion.

Then I asked the actual person taking my prints etc, and that person had NO idea about the new requirements... :blink:

Well, I won't be surprised to be summoned to trek across the city once more in the near future....

Just a question..I sent in our AOS pkg yesterday, but am now noticing a few people sent letters of explanation with the I-131, while others did not. I didn't sent one, but from someone who sent one, what did you need to explain? I didn't see in the instructions that a letter was required unless you needed to add an extra page to fully answer a question.

Some of us wrote letters explaining why we needed AP, as there wasn't any place on the form to write it and it asked you to attach a letter (part 7).

I wrote one just saying that in case of a family emergency, my husband would like to be able to travel back home. I also wrote we were interested in an international honeymoon.

Okay, thanks. I just listed the travel purpose in part 4 in case of family emergency. In following the sample from vj, part 7 wasn't used, so I didn't fill in that part. I appreciate the info everyone and I hope that doesn't slow things up for me.

Any advice would be great....

My AOS (and EAD renewal) was received on Feb. 19. Three weeks later, my check has not been cashed, i have not received any corresondence.

When I look at everyone's timelines it seems like checks were cashed around a week after receipt. I am obviously really nervous now.

Any insight/advice?

My AOS (and EAD renewal) was received on Feb. 19. Three weeks later, my check has not been cashed, i have not received any corresondence.

When I look at everyone's timelines it seems like checks were cashed around a week after receipt. I am obviously really nervous now.

Any insight/advice?

I'm in a similar boat (and there are others)...so you are not alone....my package got there 2/12 and I haven't heard from USCIS since then....the general advice is to wait, wait, wait...

Me being a person that will go crazy with stress by just sitting and doing nothing, scheduled an infopass appointment for next week (Monday, 3/17)....I have been told by others here that it probably won't help (and they are probably right) but I'm going to try nevertheless...what's the worst that can happen? Be insulted by an IO? This whole process (the way it is structured and operated) is an insult to all intending immigrants and, worst, the USCs involved....

Timeline:

12/15/2007: Wedding

02/11/2008: AOS/EAD/AP/I-130 package sent

02/12/2008: Package received by USCIS

03/21/2008: Received package back (38 days), rejected due to missing signature on I-130 (darn it!!)

03/21/2008: Sent the package back to USCIS

03/23/2008: Package received and signed for by J Morones

03/27/2008: NOA dates

03/28/2008: Checks cleared!

03/29/2008: Received all 4 NOAs in the mail

03/31/2008: All 4 cases are online

04/02/2008: Biometrics letter (appointment for April 15th, 9am)

04/12/2008: Biometrics completed

06/12/2008: AP and EAD approved!

01/30/2009: Green card approved

02/26/2014: N-400 received by USCIS

03/20/2014: Biometrics appointment

06/10/2014: Initial Interview scheduled (request for re-schedule submitted due to pre-planned international travel)

06/13/2014: New interview letter issued for: 07/21/2014

07/21/2014: Interview completed: recommended for approval

07/24/2014: Received e-mail notification, case status: oath ceremony

07/28/2014: Received notice in the mail scheduling Oath Ceremony for 08/05
