Birth certificate for beneficiary or petitioner? Does the American need to provide a birth certificate or only the foreign spouse?

The petitioner (American) needs to prove citizenship via birth cert....

For the affidavit?? Where does it say that?

"Proof of U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident status isrequired for joint and substitute sponsors and for relatives ofemployment-based immigrants who file this form. Petitioningrelatives who have already filed proof of their citizenship orimmigration status with Forms I-130, Form I-129F, I-600 andI-600A do not need to submit proof of their status with thisform."

My mistake....I guess you don't need it...good news for JessiPooh!

since i got this letter asking for INITIAL EVIDENCE.... does this mean i am pushed back and will have to start again with the waiting or will my case just proceed from where it was left off

Sooo, for anyone thinking of doing a walk-in for their Bio appointment (I am trying to do this rather than re-schedule, as I'll be out of state on my assigned day), here is my saga so far:

I did not bother calling the misinformation line first off. Why bother when they will probably be wrong?

So I drove from Boulder to Aurora on Monday morning super early, thinking it might help to be there very early on.

The Denver/Aurora office is closed on Mondays. Oops.

So then I drive there again today around 11. The security guard was really nice, and explained that their walk in day is Wednesday (which I had kind of heard for other offices). He said Saturdays are also really quiet. I tried to smile sweetly and see if I could still do it today - no dice. But he was really nice about it:)

He also said that the mornings are really busy and it is better to try in the afternoon. So I'm going to go tomorrow at around noon!

Anthony Julie - I think your bio is there tomorrow too. It was NOT what I expected! It is in the big strip mall on the corner of Colfax and Chambers, right tucked away at the far end. Next to a Smoke Shop. Good luck!!

In retrospect, I should have called the 1-800 number. I could have saved myself a few trips. But it's good for me to do these drives - I am gradually learning my way around the area.
