Cdn in Wa, lucky you that you are getting the 10 year green card!

Today, I received the permanent resident card. I am utterly excited!

It came in my hubby's name (thank you IO for changing it at our interview), so I can finally carry his sweet name. :)

I am going to stay up tonight so I can surprise my hubby with it, he has been waiting for it with excitement also! He actually had been checking the USCIS website more than me lol.

Oh, and finally after three years not being able to leave the country (F-1 entry visa expired), I can go up to the Canadian border...and finally be on a different soil than american. :)

The other interviewees on 10-17-08 in Seattle, your card is right around the corner. I found it funny we all got approved the same day. :)

AOS Approved on 10-17-08 (details in profile)

Removal of Conditions on 07-19-10

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

I love my hubby beyond anything in this world.

I'm so looking forward to getting on with life, without this immigration stuff hanging over my head.

Oh, I hear you! How long have you been here without being able to work if you don't mind me asking?

I mean, I complain about not being able to cross the border but I can't imagine not being able to work.

Yours should be in the mail either tomorrow or Thursday if the speed you got your approval notice is any true indication. I am excited for you! When are you visiting your friends and family?

I've been here since September last year, so 13+ months. I didn't apply for EAD at first, but wish I had at this point. I've been back a couple of times to visit my brother who was in ICU for 5 months. It will be nice to be able to go back and forth without the worry that the border will give me trouble. Once I get my card, I will start the planning!

Oh, is your brother doing any better? I certainly hope so.

Don't regret the not working part. When you will be working like a maniac, you will miss all this time to yourself! :) Trust me on this! lol

Well, he's alive, but he's not the same. Just being in ICU for that length of time it's a hard time getting back to normal. And there is some thought that he had a stroke while in there. :(

I hear you on the working. Not looking forward to that. Looking forward to having the cloud of immigration off my mind, though.

Hey everyone!

I had my interview yesterday in Seattle. It was crazy, I let my papers fall, I forgot the name of our witnesses...but all was really nice, the officer approved me putting a big red stamp on my process : APPROVED. He didn't say anything about review the process, he said just for to wait for to receive the card in home.

Good luck to everyone!

Good Luck guys.

Has anyone travel with advance parole. If so did you experience any problem at the port of entry?

I have used my AP several times. The first time was the hardest. The border IO were very questioning and it took over an hour of paperwork etc to get through. The last time, it only took 45 mins, but it was easy and no questions were asked at all.

I was crossing at a land crossing between Canada and US.

Grrr. I hate how this system lumps 2 posts together when you try and respond to more than one in separate posts.

Congrats!!

So now that I am on my 9th month overall and working on my 7th month since my case was sent to the CSC for "faster processing." What is my next step? Sit here and keep waiting, or infopass, or letter to someone? Or am I not quite to that time yet? My field office, Tampa, says they are working on Jan 16, 2008 for the I-485, however, I was transfered to the CSC. CSC doesn't have a processing time for I-485s.

2-22-08 - I-485 rev'd

2-27-08 - NOA1

3-17-09 - Transferred to Cali.

4-12-08 - Biometrics

4-22-08 - Touch

4-28-08 - EAD received.

...waiting...

3-04-09 - Had to renew the EAD :(

3-04-09 - Got annoyed at being outside of the processing window

3-04-09 - Called and they confirmed. Will contact me within 45 days.

3-05-09 - Date on the EAD NOA1

3-12-09 - Received a confirmation email that I am outside of the window and will get a decision in 60 days.

3-12-09 - TOUCH!!!

3-27-09 - Touch!

5-09-09 - Randomly received the renewed EAD Card... w/ wrong A# :(.

Ali e Jeff, congrats on your interview!! :) A huge burden got lifted!

Never seen, when you look at the processing timelines on USCIS website, you will noticed that it says "Field Office Processing Dates for Tampa FL as of: August 31, 2008". It is stupid, I know. You are most likely out of processing timelines. I would make an infopass and see if a background check in the hold up, or at least know what is going on.

I do not recommend calling the misinformation line. It is a waste of time! Good luck! Let us know how it goes!

AOS Approved on 10-17-08 (details in profile)
