I applied for AOS on Feb 1st 2008 and got an interview notice today. It is October 10th. The interview notice issued on August 20th and sent from the NBC, not the local office. My local office is in Santa Ana. Southern California. I believe for those Feb filers who are still waiting for the interview appointment will get theirs soon. FYI.

I filed my I-485 and my I 765 which was received on April 3, 2008. I did get an RFE for the I-485 which I returned over a month ago.

I phoned USCIS and said that my I -765 was over the 90 day wait period and that I had received nothing with regard the I 765 since April 3rd.

The first person was very helpful and I even asked if this was because of my RFE for the AOS. He said no the two are seperate and I should have heard about the I-765 by now and he would have to escalate it and put me on hold to speak to someone else.

When the next lady answered she said that the delay was because of the RFE. THis baffled me and I said but your colleague said the two forms are totally separate. She got very short with me and repeated what she had said about the RFE. So I repeated the question about the two being independant. She repated the RFE statement. So I asked her, Are the two independant - Yes or No? She said yes they are! I repeated this back to her - So the two ARE independent. She said "Yes".

Then she continued to say but you got an RFE for the I 485 and they have been waiting for that, Just as I said "but that makes no sense" she hung up on me!

Don't know wether to phone back or not. Has anyone else had similar experiences?

Many thanks

She hung up on you?? Wow!!!!

Hang in there Feb filers. Sending good vibes your way...

I went to my Infopass appointment in Seattle today.

For all Seattleites, the parking lot next to USCIS building has increased to $6 from $5. :(

The lady was real nice. :) Her name was Yukiko.

So the namecheck was completed back in March. When I asked her when to expect the interview letter, she called someone else who told her they were sending out interview letters for cases from late December.

It is a waiting game but I feel a bit more patient after her telling me everything was fine and no letter was sent to me. :)

Thank you Lili. It is really nice of you that you clarified the picture for all of us from Seattle. I feel a lot more secure in what is happening.

Heres a strange question, I can't remember if I had to give in my passport to the officers to keep when I did my bio appointment. Is that normal?

It's just its been about four months since I needed it and now I'm starting to panic as I can't find it. I know I had it at the bio appointment.

Anyone any ideas, or want to come help me look for it :) ??

Well I had my interview yesterday in San Jose. We arrived 1hr 30 mins early because we live about 2 hours away from the office and didn't want to get lost or stuck in traffic. We saw the IO at about 10:30 am and we were only in there for about 10 mins. He had us sworn in, then he asked us for our photo ID, passports and then he asked my husband his full name, birth date and address. He also asked me the same questions. Then he asked to see our marriage license, which I showed to him, he had never seen one like it before because it's from GA not CA. He asked us if we were married in 2005 (he seemed amazed, haha) and asked us who attended the wedding (I had our photo album but I didn't even show him the pictures). He also asked me some questions from the paperwork about being associated/affiliated with political organizations etc. He asked me when the last time I left the country was (March 2005). He then asked us for any proof of joint assests and taxes filed and such, so I showed him our bank statement, our rental agreement, our two car loans, and our taxes etc. He left to photo copy our IDs, the bank statement, the taxes and our rental agreement. He didn't care about the other stuff. Then he gave me a letter saying that I was approved but that he had to review our case later that day and go and approve it on the computer unless they needed additional information. If they don't need additional stuff then they will send me my green card. I'm kind of nervous though because my application hasn't been updated online. So we will see if I get anything in the mail. I don't know what else they would want except maybe a medical because mine was done in April 2007. We'll see. My medical information hasn't changed since I did it. Unless I somehow while being here in the US for the past 8 years contracted something, the medical thing in my opinion is ridiculous, especially for people who have been in the US for awhile.

She was transferred to CSC, she most likely didn't have an interview.

AOS Approved on 10-17-08 (details in profile)

Removal of Conditions on 07-19-10

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

I love my hubby beyond anything in this world.
