Hey Everyone!

Long time no talk. The last time you heard from me, I was mourning our interview cancellation notice, and trying to figure out what to do.

Well, we never got a rescheduling notice, so we went to the originally scheduled, though "cancelled," interview today just to try and see what would happen. We decided that we would not mention the cancellation notice unless directly asked about it.

Needless to say, they called my wife's name after about 1 hour, and everything went as if there had never been a cancellation notice in the first place. My wife was approved on the spot, and walked out of there with the I-551 stamp in her passport.

The lesson - THE CANCELLATION NOTICE MEANS NOTHING, AND YOU SHOULD GO TO THE ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED INTERVIEW ANYWAY. You were all right!!! Thanks everyone for their golden advice.

The USCIS website has already updated her I-485 to card production ordered.

That's really awesome!!!!! (and disturbing - why do they send out these bogus cancellations?? Is it some kind of weird test to see how committed you are to the process?? Grrrrrr). Good work in outwitting them!

It's supposed to be first come first served, but clearly that's not the case just by looking at this forum. I don't think there really is any sort of order. Maybe the easiest cases are processed first, and the more complex ones get stuck for a while. I'm not sure anyone really knows!

I have one of the earliest NOA from our FEB batch but have heard nothing. NO TRANSFER AND NO INTERVIEW.

I am happy for people who are done with this part........cause I don't wish immigration process on anyone.....

It's supposed to be first come first served, but clearly that's not the case just by looking at this forum. I don't think there really is any sort of order. Maybe the easiest cases are processed first, and the more complex ones get stuck for a while. I'm not sure anyone really knows!

I think your local office plays a big part in the process too...but again, just a guess.

2011 March 31 - Sent off Naturalization pkg overnight to Texas

2011 April 1 - Arrived in Texas at 10:21 am

2011 April 1 - NOA (rec'd via snail mail April 8)

2011 April 7 - Cheque cashed

2011 May 5 - Biometrics (letter rec'd via snail mail April 15)

2011 May 9 - Placed in line for interview scheduling

2011 June 13 - Rec'd yellow letter (no change in status online)

2011 June 23 - Rec'd text that my case has been scheduled for interview

2011 August 1 - Interview (rec'd via snail mail June 27) PASSED

2011 August 3 - Rec'd email that my case has been scheduled for Oath

2011 September 1 - Oath ceremony (rec'd snail mail Aug 5)

2011 September 1 - All done, yeah.

April 07, 2010 - packet delivered and signed

June 23, 2010 - APPROVED WITHOUT INTERVIEW!!!
