How do you know what times polls open/close?

In my experience lines are longer when it's easier for most people to go. That means right before work (7:30-9am), around lunch (12-1) and right after work (5-7).

If you get there at opening (6am for me) there's no lines at all where I am.

eta: I go after work because I know I can't avoid the lines. I'm not going at 6 and I can't afford to walk in late. After 6 it is.

I am working the election here in Orange tomorrow. It is going to be a long day, I have to go down to Laguna Beach and I have five polling places to monitor. Orange got their electronic voting equipment re-certified so we should be good to go.

I find anytime that's off hours such as 2:00pm, 6:00am, etc......

No, Troll, all the states I've lived in recently had registration at the polls, so I just blanked. I only found out I needed to have registered here by Jan 22 on.... Jan 24. ARGH.

Show up and claim you're registered. When they don't find your name in the book they will have to give you a provisional ballot. I believe it takes days for them to verify all provisionals and by then a winner has been declared and tallies are published on cnn
