I'm getting near the k3 interview, but I work for cvs and I only make about 16,000 a yr.... would that matter to the consulate ?

Technically you only need to be at 100% povertyline for K-Visas, but may counselor officers want to see 125% because they know that adjustment of status requires that.

You are cutting it close, get a co-sponsor that makes enough to support prospective immigrant.

Yes, a family member would be fine. As long as they are a US citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident and has to meet the requirements and legal obligations.

Are you figuring 16,000 before tax or take home pay?

If take home, you are way off, I-134 and I-864 used later when adjusting status uses gross income BEFORE taxes.

You will remain the primary sponsor and file the forms. The joint sponsor files an additional form.
