Dear Fellow VJers,

VJers who attend the CFO are mostly K-1 Visa beneficiaries...are K-3 beneficiaries required to attend the CFO also?

Hope you can enlighten me on this...

Thanks!

yes it is still needed... as long as you are married to a foreign citizen or a fiancee...

Thanks for the quick reply Shape. Yep, looks like i have to attend the CFO Seminar too.

Just got off the CFO hotline (+632) 525-3783 and the woman told me the ff. details:

- Seminars are done Monday to Friday at 10:00 AM and 1:30 PM for U.S. bound people. You can attend one of the 2 schedules.

- Please bring the ff. (if MARRIED ALREADY TO FOREIGN SPOUSE like in my case): a). Marriage Certificate from NSO, B). Birth Certificate from NSO, c). NBI Clearance.

- Location of the Seminar is along Taft Ave., Manila right in front of De La Salle University (ANIMO!). You should find the BDO building there and proceed to the 2nd Floor.

Most of the info can be found at: http://www.cfo.gov.ph/ - however, the location MAP is not updated. By the way, bring money because i'm certain there is a fee for this seminar (i forgot to ask how much...)

Did i miss something? Feel free to add...

Thanks!

you are welcome.. the fee for the seminar 250 and for the cfo certificate is 450 (i dont know if thats still the rate, i had seminar sept 2007 though) , i would suggest, its better if u go with the morning sched and so in that way u can get the certifcate after lunch, just photocopy your nso birth cert. and nso marriage cert.,and nbi , before u go there so no hassle. :)

congrats you will have your visa sooner,...

CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) Seminar a requirement for being a spouse of a foreigner. Once you complete the seminar successfully, they will give you the Guidance and Counseling Certificate which is needed to get the CFO sticker that would be attached to your passport once you get your visa. If the sticker is not reflected on your passport, the plane would always be strict on their "No sticker, no Boarding" policy, even if you have your visa attached.
