August and September Filers - NOA2 to NVC

The average now is 2 weeks for them to receive it. Some can be fast as 1 week, while others can take 3-4 weeks. Anyway, it's just nice to see things moving! After 5 months of nothing while waiting on NOA2, it's a bit exciting to be on the move. Too bad the petitions sit in China for 2 months before they look at them.

Together - Forever!!

Hello all! I'm an October filer who just got NOA2 - I figured you wouldn't mind me crashing your thread! I'm the 'alien fiancee', so I'm not sure I can call NVC myself. I will see if my SO will do it, but he is not nearly as obsessed with the minutea of this visa process as I am! I was wondering if NVC sends a letter notifying you that they have forwarded the petition to the embassy?

Thanks everyone!

Welcome to the next step Meridien, I'm new here myself. :)NVC does send you a letter when your case has been sent to the embassy, according to the wording on the I-797 (NOA2) I received on Wednesday.

Nope, no wedding month picked yet. We've talked about nearly every month from October till next February. I think we'll be closer to choosing a month once we get P3. The time from NVC mailing our things till P3 seems to vary quite a bit, but once you get P3, it moves along pretty well.

I hope we can have the interview in july or early august. Personally, I'd love an October wedding, as it can be beautiful here in the fall, and not too terribly cold. We'll just have to see how long it takes GUZ to process thigns.

What about you?

Brian

Good idea waiting on P-3 ( thanks) and like you said, I will not know how long it will take for NVC. This could be the variable?

Maybe I am dreaming, but I hope to have them both here by late August.. with school starting right around the corner?! Good Luck.. see you on CFL too!

Well...you are the sponsor. Your brother is the co-sponsor. So the co-sponsor's relationship to the sponsor is "brother."

Whoops! When I typed the I-134 out for my dad I put in the box: Relationship to sponsor: My Son's Fiancée. I already sent it to my fiancée. The good thing is if we cross out the 's Fiancée part it will just say my son!

India, gun buyback and steamroll.

You are referring to question #3: This affidavit is executed on behalf of the following person.....It asks for the beneficiaries name, address, etc. and also asks for the RELATIONSHIP TO SPONSOR. They are asking for the BENEFICIARIES relationship to the sponsor/co-sponsor. In my case I should have put MY FIANCEE'S FATHER but in your case, you should put MY FIANCEE'S BROTHER. (But I think this box is the least of the consular officer's concerns out of the entire I-134....They are only concerned with the tax returns)
