Wow Igor, your stats page is really blossoming. I'm struggling to figure out what the 'weighted CSC' column indicates. Is it a ratio between VSC and CSC approvals?

Yeah, I know how that one can be confusing. Let me try to explain.

Ideally (in order not to fall behind) both CSC and VSC would process as many petitions per time period as there are petitions being submitted.

Therefore if CSC gets 2 times as many petitions as VSC it would have to process 2 times as many.

That means that looking at just the pure approvals per day for the two centers does not mean much, since they actually have to work at different rates.

In order to figure out what the difference in rates has to be for the two center to keep up, you need to look at the petitions being submitted.

I take the total number of petitions sent to CSC during the last 52 weeks (1 year) and divide that by the total to VSC. Right now that is equal to 2.42.

That means that CSC has to process 2.42 times as many petitions per day as VSC for the two centers to keep up with each other (for them to have the same inflow/outflow rates).

"Weighted # of NOA2s per day from CSC" = "# of NOA2s per day from CSC" / 2.42

Looking at the last two columns you can see how the two centers are doing with respect to each other in terms of keeping up with their inflow/outflow rates.

Does that make sense?

Yeah that makes sense. So it's a ratio of submitted petitions. Good thinking to factor in CSC receiving a lot more petitions than VSC.

It's a great resource and one, I assume, that will keep going indefinitely without much input from you?

Yep, it is weighted by the ratio of submitted petitions.

You assume correctly. It's automated, so I don't have to do anything. Of course I keep doing improvements to it, and adding new things. And there's always a possibility that VJ might change the format of the database or restrict access to it.

It's a brilliant resource Igor, thanks so much for doing it. I'm sure many more people will benefit in future :)

Bengalover. Go to DHL at this address: http://www.dhl.com/publish/g0/en/eshipping.../sref.high.html

Click on 'clear' and you should see a date range.

Enter 'EXP 13 FEB 2008A' in the 'Shipper's reference' box and click on 'Start Tracking'

You should then see a number of shipments. If you also see the following "There are more records available for the criteria provided. The data shown is only a part of available data. Try refining your query criteria to narrow down the search." then go back to the search and enter 'EXP 13 FEB 2008B'

There is also the EXPEDITE IV SECTION shipping reference. So if the above doesn't show your case then this might work.

In fact EXPEDITE IV SECTION shows a petition going to Mumbai today :)

NVC says my case has been received from CSC, however it has not been "keyed" or "entered" into the system yet.

I think its weird, how can they know they received my WAC# if they havent "entered it" into the system? HM.....

They said it will take up to two days to enter my case into the system.

I'll call back again tomorrow, Friday night.

I'll call back again tomorrow, Friday night.

I called today and the lady asked for my receipt number. I gave it to her. Then she asked for my Beneficiary's Name. I told her and was excited because they never got as far as to them asking for her name, they always tell me to give it 2-4 weeks. Anyways she says "How can I help you?" and I asked her if it has been received yet and she said no. I said "ummm...ok" expecting more than just a no response. Then she says after a few seconds of akward silence. "Well we just got it in the mail today but it hasn't been linked to the system. You should call back later." So I tell her what time I should call back and she tells me to hold on. After about 3 minutes on hold she comes back on the line "Sir you should wait about 15," (wow only 15 minutes I was thinking), "days." ####### so I said ok and hung up the phone.

15 days from them receiving it in the mail room to me getting a case number. I know they are overexaggerating like they always do, but its just annoying. I bet you anything its going to be entered like today or after the weekend.

From what I've seen, NVC is usually pretty fast at entering cases into the system. Chances are they'll have it in the system later today. If I were you, I'd call them back after 6:00 pm Eastern time and ask again.

Good luck.

Thanks so much, Babesgirl

You're very welcome but I can't take any credit. Rouguewave is the one to thank for finding the DHL trick. I think it's on the July NOA2 to NVC thread.
