I filed at the California Service Center at the end of August and rcd NOA1 October 5. The NOA1 was dated as received August 29 but not "receipted" until October 5. I just received an email today (January 30) that our I-129F has been approved :) and that the NOA2 was mailed Jan 29. So, in my case it was 5 months from when they dated it and almost 4 months from when I actually received the NOA1. However, I filed just as there was a huge increase in the number of applications and they may be running a bit more smoothly now. Hope this helps and best of luck!

the timeline don't mean squat. according to the timeline, we were supposed to get our noa2 by christmas. but it is almost valentines day, and we are still waiting for the noa2.
The only thing that can give you an idea is the stats provided by the timelines. NO ONE HAS A CRYSTAL BALL, and can pull an answer out if the air and tell you when to expect NOA2. All we have is the statistics provided by the timelines.

It has been reported that because USCIS raised the fees charged last summer, for example they got as many naturalization petitions filed in 2007 as they got filed in 2005 and 2006 combined, the same happened with all other filings, this has causes a tremendous back-log that we wont see letting up for quite some time.

Im sure they'll never admit it if you asked them, but they probably put certain countries under more scrutiny than others.

Actually some countries are flagged as "high fraud" countries, and you probably would get them to admit that they look at, for example, The Philippines, harder than they would Germany. And it does make sense. From a USC standpoint I would expect them to do this as part of their job.

Im not surprised the philippines is a high fraud country.. from a medical system point of view (working at a hospital).. the philipines ship out their nurses like a national product for exportation. we just hired 80 LPN's from the philipines as contract workers

i also suspect that they favor the later filers who submitted the materials AFTER the fee increase. Seen people who filed in august and september got their NOA2s as early as in november.

well, i filed in august (after the fee increase) and my fiance is from england (hopefully not a high fraud country) and nobody has touched our application since sept 14th... so i think that the uscis does what they want and we cant say or do much about it!! i hope it comes soon though, i want to start our wedding plans!!

I doubt they'd even have the capability to do this if they wanted. Plus there's really no reason to do it--they have everyone's money in-hand, so no reason to create more work for themselves.

Well, I applied on July 27th right before fee increase, and got noa 1 on August 7th, but since then, nothing new. And we found a serious mistake, well I typed my SSN wrong a little bit, and now I found out after reviewing my form. I know I am dumb. My fiance immediately called and was told to make info pass appointment and he will go talk to an officer on the 19th. No touches. No thing. He was told that our file should be reviewed by March 14th. Oh great, white day. On valentain's day, all we did was to make an appointment instead of exchanging chocolate. Soo insane.
